This is correct. If the haters are not smart enough to find the contract then they shouldn’t cry about it. These California websites post the annual salary for a position. For universities, it can be the 9-month contract given the school year. They don’t edit an individual based on their actual tenure or if they left their job early or started at an odd time. They also don’t include the month of December. This would only be a a full 12 months listed if you worked 13 months. if it’s so important learn how to find the actual public contact singed. All state employees contracts are available
SHOW US THE CONTRACT!
Stop being so obsessed with other people. It’s actually Psycho.
if you’re not smarter enough to find a public contract then it’s time you stop basing your life on it.
This is not including December and you don’t know when it started. You’re assuming August 1st. Unless you actually learn how to find the contract you’ll keep speaking false info
This makes sense without December. You’re not going to sign an odd amount. 4months x$23,333 is exactly $70,000. This is also based on the contract starting Aug 1st. We don’t know the start date. That seems more normal. It’s looks like the worst it can be is $70,000. Unless you want to spend your day online searching though contracts. I’m sure some of you crazy haters will do just that.
Yeah, well $56k makes sense with December. What do you mean you won't sign an odd amount? The previous coach made $63,615. That seems like an odd amount. You are completely fabricating this $70k number. Where are people getting this without December thing. Transparentcalifornia tells you what every employee in the state made in a calendar year. There is no "without December" nonsense.
Is it $70k or $80K? I thought there is some kind of public record of the contract. If so, post it so we can see if it's $70k or $80K.
It's lower than my monthly salary, $27,500. I cannot imagine feeding a family on that type of income, even if that is his quarterly wage.
People do not realize how expensive children are, and especially as they get older, the expenses pile up. I commend people for being passionate about what they do, but if they have any intention of raising a family, they have to be pragmatic in assessing the ability to provide for their family.
On top of that, the lifestyle of a college coach does not able you to support your family very well outside of finances. You are unable to physically be present very often due to the travel demands with both recruiting and the meet schedule, especially in indoor and outdoor track. I am speaking as a former athlete at a Power 5 (now 2?) School that went through the process with recruiting, and had coaches visit at home from all over.
These people sacrifice a ton to pursue that career path. The worst part is that they have terrible job security. Say what you will about Brosnan, but when you evaluate what they contribute to the athletes in their passion for the sport, the athletes' development and what little they get in return from the athletic departments, LRC should be much more considerate of ALL coaches that are in it for the love of the sport. It really has been disappointing to see so many people taking joy in the firing of this coach. That's just not healthy behavior.

When Brosnan got fired, he was screwed and did nothing wrong.
When people give him crap, he’s a victim and they’re just jealous.
That’s all total BS.
Nobody is jealous of a guy in his 40’s making $56k who coached really fast high school kids.
If anyone takes any joy in his firing, it’s probably because he brings it on himself by constantly seeking the spotlight, making it about him and his made up accomplishments instead of his athletes, his dishonesty and shady ethics and how he treats other people.
He’s just not as important as he thinks he is and his current employment status along with his salary at UCLA validate this.
Anyone else find it amusing that he's posting a pic on the Nike track right now on Instagram to keep us talking about how important he must be at Nike...when in reality he probably snuck in there just like every other non-employee does.

It official you’re extremely jealous of coach Brosnan and so messed up as a person to start a thread because you have so much hate inside yourself. You continue to rant about this man’s salary you clearly know nothing about. I’m hoping you’re a HS kid that never ran fast and is just immature and not an adult yet. If you’re and actual adult you need help and or you’re very very dense. Let me walk you through the obvious. I’m actually surprised no one was smarter enough to figure this out. Whoever said Brosnan made $70,000 would be correct if and only his contract started August 1st. His listed pay on TRANSPARENTCALIFORNIA was $23,333. If you do 4 x 23,333 that’s $70,000 per year. exactly The reason that’s correct is because UC employees get paid on the first of the month. Brosnan’s pay of 23,333 is only 4 months. Here is how: August is paid September 1st 2022 September is paid October 1st 2022 October is paid November 1st 2022 November is paid December 1st 2022 December is paid on JANUARY 1st (January is in the year 2023 and will not show in his pay for 2022). His $23,333 is 4 months of pay and this would be exactly $70,000 Annually. Again this is if he started getting paid on August 1st. If he did not then the $75,000- $80,000 would be more likely. Whoever said his contract was public, they are correct. Since he was a state employee of a public university his contract is public. However, if you’re not smart enough to figure this out then I highly doubt you’ll ever find his contract. Reading this thread was actually sickening on how trash and jealous people can be. You people were demanding to know Brosnan’s information and not intelligent enough to understand how to figure it out. It’s gross , sad and ironic at the same time. Final conclusion is the worst his pay could be is: $70,000. It very well could be more.

Interesting you say this. His UCLA contract wasn’t renewed only 4 weeks ago. You actually expect top schools to have an opening at such an odd time of year. Also Brosnan doesn’t need to jump the first thing that comes. I personally know one school that reached out to Brosnan and according to my source he said no thank you or something to that extent. I give him credit for passing on a mid major university. He is very well known and one of the best distance coaches in the country. He’s also made it clear he wants to coach the top athletes to very fast times.
It’s 5:30AM and you people are obsessed with Sean Brosnan. I think some of you need to get a life and let the man do his thing. He will have no issues getting a job. I’ve never seen a distance coach so dang popular. He must be doing something so good for y’all to be so mad. Brosnan is like Energy, it or he can’t be destroyed. Coach Energy is never going way. You might want to learn to deal with it.
These forums are asynchronous, dude. It's only you obsessed at 5:30am.

The post above is correct. Brosnan was making at least 70k per year at UCLA - a nice starting salary for a 1st year NCAA assistant. Contracts for public employees are indeed public but they normally don't go online for a few years. This thread will be closed to all future posts.
