Just a Timex Ironman digital watch. It tells time, has a stopwatch, and never runs out of battery. No GPS because a good watch is expensive and I already spend enough on shoes. Works fine for me.
Another vote for the Timex Ironman
I had the 50 or 100 lap version in college. I have the 30 lap version now, 100 lap function would be handy for some longer workouts (for example 20 x 400m with 200m jogging rest). I didn't know how good I had it back then.
You can get by with 20 x 4 with the 30 lap version. Just don't record the rests. That's probably about the most reps you'll do in a workout ever though. The only time I thought more than 30 laps might be useful was in recording mile splits for an ultra.
When I go running, I usually wear my Garmin Forerunner because it’s great for tracking all the metrics like pace, distance, and heart rate. It’s super reliable and has a long battery life.
Funny story – I once decided to switch things up and wore a super clone Rolex from during a casual jog. I know, not exactly a running watch, but I wanted to see how it felt. Surprisingly, it was really comfortable and didn't feel heavy at all. Plus, it looked pretty cool even while I was sweating it out. What about you?
Garmin Forerunner 35 has been holding strong since 2019.
I have to charge it once a week and like once every couple of months I get a corrupted file, but other than that it works completely fine for logging miles and workouts.
I wear a smart watch from Twellmall, which is very good value for money. I need to know my running mileage, time, speed, and calories, and it can do it very well.
