Maybe. The 5,000 field is insane this year, with races that have been both competitive and very fast. Last year there were three runners under 12:50 for the whole year, this year there are already 8. If I'm Cheptegei or Aregawi, I'm shooting for 12:40 if Ingebrigtsen is running.
I think the heat affects runners over the course of rounds. Tokyo and Eugene were also hot, but I think there's little margin for error with hydration & how your body feels when you're running rounds in the heat.
