but if she runs fast she should have this race wrapped up by the bell
cause if they arrive at 2.50 its all over
We did not get the chance to see where she's now, concerning her max speed, because; not the right time, right distance, right day, right opponents. I think Tuesday 1500m could be the day! 1500m Is a warm up for her, if she can accelerate long enough and go really deep (thanks to Faith) in this distance than there is a real goal ;) As written, semi was nothing yet, more is to come. Only thing worried about is, what the effects are of the fall on her body, don't trust knowledge of doctors concerning woman bodies when saying all's fine, to her. There must be a heavy impact, she may not be aware of it yet. Just fishing of course.
I think we did, with that Tokyo drifting in the 10k.
She tied up over the last 100.
even in London she did the same
although anything can happen in a final,
do you really see Hassan putting any distance between herself and THE Faith Kipyegon?
Mageean is in great form and yes has had a better season than Muir. She was second when Faith broke the world record. We didn’t get to see the rest of them finishing as the focus was on Faith but she was in about 6th coming round the last 200 so must have had a very strong finish to come past everyone and finish in 2nd place.
I’m a big Laura Muir fan and I hope she can be up there in contention for a medal but she’s been very inconsistent this year.

she couldn't outkick Tsegay
Yep.
Sifan, is a different athlete after last year break.
In London she was not in shape at all, only 'sort of' prepared to run a marathon.
This summer she seems to experiments with new tactics and her capacities changed. Sifan just in the lost weeks got back her speed, after last year break.
That means we did not see the combination of these new capacities yet, not in London and Hengelo.
Only got a glimpse of it yesterday, with Kipyegon, Faith will get the best out of Sifan!
Sifan almost outkick Tsegay in the 10K, wasn't she tired because of that 1500m in her legs same day, 6 hours before.
Tuesday, she has only one race, Sifan can be fresh and loaded. If so, I foresee an utter spectacle from her
unless, muscle or hip problems, as a result of the falling.
I'm surprised how much Muir is being overlooked both here and by pundits. The people on Citius didn't even mention her as an outsider, focussing more on Hull and Mageean. Muir has run faster than both of those this season, has a better overall PB, and is a proven championship performer. Only three women in the field have won global 1500 medals and Muir is one of them.
If they’re seriously putting Hull over Muir that’s insane. I can see the argument for Mageean. She has a strong kick and has had a better season than Muir. While you are correct on the medals statement, I’d give Welteji a lot of respect for 4th at Worlds last year in her secondary event (with a loaded big 3 in front of her). Ultimately, Muir might prove me wrong but she’s giving me vibes of Raevyn Rogers last year with an uneven season, running better at Worlds, but then maybe a 5th/6th place finish.
I'm still unconvinced by the case for Mageean over Muir. Mageean has run sub-4 just twice in her career and has an awful H2H record against Muir. That 4:14 mile was a great result but I'm not betting on a woman who has lost to Muir in every global, European, and Commonwealth final they have contested. It's not even as if she has youth on her side compared to Muir.

Muir's best 1500 result this season is faster than Mageean has ever run. It's also more than 1.5 seconds faster than Mageean's SB.
I think people are going over the top for Mageean because she's new on the scene as a top level elite - yes she's been around for years, but she was never more than solid until the last couple of races of last year.

I think a lot of people are weighing up the fact that Muir had to run that quick time to qualify while Mageean did not. Same applies for Chepchirchir, Haylom and McGee from heat1.
That fast semi will have a lot of impact on runners in the final come the last 800 even wiht 1 days rest. I can see Kipyegon taking the lead with 600 to go, hassan and muir both following closely but both will fade. Chepchirchir second, Haylom third is my prediction. Mageean fourth.
Nelly Jepchirchir lacks finesse in her speed work. She would be a force to recorn with in.Sifan has an edge over the Ethiopians but anything can happen. I don't see Kipyegon surrendering her title. Kipyegon is fast in both fast race and slow race . She is just too good in any tactics. Sifan Hassan though has improved in her speed is nowhere near Kipyegon. Kipyegon has vulnerability in the 5000 m where she has run only one race. In her signature event its difficult to defeat her barring a fall or massive tactical mistake which I don't see her commiting. And oh Kenya is awaiting to get their first 🥇🥇🏆 Gold medal the pressure to her is enough to make her do everything to win.
