Couple of questions -
Are you running 60MPW? you're question makes that info a hypothetical
If you are - thats a pretty hefty number for 90+% of HS kids -
So lets assume that is the number - why do you feel that isn't enough?
I understand you're asking will 2 miles on top as a double make a diff - I think the Q is why you think more milage would help?
If your premise is doubling could be beneficial with a light second run (your 2 mile ex) The obvious other option is to make a few of your other runs a double instead- staying at 60MPW and see what that does - it may make things easier and help in overall recovery and let you bang a bit harder on workout days -
If you are in fact trying to go higher on milage (and you have thought this out and its a logical next step for you) then as some have posted - give it a shot and see how you respond -
