When you really want to believe something, logic goes out the window.
Yeah, like believing Monson is clean but Shelby was not. Illogical!
If Monson ran 14:19 clean then she can run sub-14:10 dirty. Only 2 people in history have done that and we all assume they are dirty. Does she really seem that caliber runner?

The best American should absolutely be as good as the best East Africans. Or at least close. We have better training facilities, better nutrition, better health care, and lower poverty.
I believe that Shelby didn’t start doping until after the 2019 world championships when she ran the race of her life and still got crushed. Today’s run by Monson validates my belief. If Monson can run 14:19 while clean, that makes it more likely that Shelby was clean when she ran 14:23.
Someone is struggling with the definition of "proves"
Maybe “proves” was an overly strong choice of word. Would “provides support for the argument” be more palatable for you?
Full reworded statement: Monson provides support for the argument that Shelby was clean when she ran 14:23.
No she doesn't. One failed a drug test and the other didn't.
Full reworded statement: Shelby Houlihan banned for doping after American record in women's 5000m. Alicia Monson breaks American record in women's 5000m once held by disgraced Shelby Houlihan.

There is a real liklihood that Shelby never actually doped and our "system" of determining who has doped is flawed. Whether it was a burrito or not, doping tests are a statistical game and houlihan failed a stats test. Doesn't mean she was a doper
Monson was also 2019 Milrose 3000m champion 8:45. Her 5000m pedigree is better.
Monson focused on the 5000 in college. Shelby focused on the 800 and 1500. Shelby’s 15:49 came about 100 minutes after she raced in the 1500 final.
yup-sure Shelby had some solid cross results -she did win Pac-10s in her last year-she wasn't a top 5 at NCAAs-Monson was twice, and her focus was definitely mid-distance otherwise....

... you are literally wrong with every statement. And of course you brought no argument, not too mention evidence for any of these false statements.
Or maybe drugs don't make a big difference, or everyone's on something. If you can't tell who's doping because all these athletes are running similarly fast, then either no one's doping, drugs don't work, or everyone's doping. If they theoretically make you run 5 seconds faster in a 1500 and 10% of people are on drugs then all of the medalists are on drugs. This is based on 34 1500 runners at 3:32 or faster, if 10% took drugs and improved by 5 seconds in a 1500 then the top 3.4 athletes would be running Jakob type times or faster. Or let's say they only make you 3 seconds faster. Currently to be a medal contender you need to be 3:29, again there are about 30 other people within a few seconds of that type of time, 10% of that is 3 athletes so if 10% of the top 30+ athletes improved by 3 seconds in a 1500 because of drugs then they would make up the entire podium. Does this mean that the top several athletes in the world are all doping? Or does this mean that doping doesn't really do much? Or does this mean that no one is doping and the drug testing is working since 'clean' athletes are able to be on the podium? If drugs make such a big difference then no clean athletes would be at the front.
Are you one of those people that played chess agains themselves when they were little because beating everyone else was too easy? I was too, let’s be friends?

Real likelihood like one in a billion? That stuff she tested positive for has literally zero chance of getting in a clean athlete’s body at the level she got popped for.
