Obviously if you can't beat a 4:07.64 1500, stop trying to be the best skinny runt. Lots of better sports can use your modest stamina and speed. You could be a very good not-skinny-runt.
Ahhhhh. I ran my pr of 4:07 back in 1996, and when I saw her run that, the same thought went through my mind. No, I don't think one should quit though. Even the commentators were mentioning the same thought. Many men College, club runners can't run faster. Oh well.
I have decided to inform my coach that I will be leaving the team indefinitely. When I break 4:07 in the mile I will attempt to rejoin the world of NCAA running.
I knew a guy with a 4:10 mile PR in college. Circa 1990. He also ran about 13:50 for 5k and under 29 for 10k, All American at both + XC. Yea, he was just wasting his time running. Why did he bother? What a chump.
