I predict that spending 2023 watching a North Rockland team with two 180+ sophs and a nicely developing young supporting cast annoy the top four or five teams all season will make the 2024 NY predictions a lot easier.
Arlington is a dark horse, but I agree with above posters.
Excited to see how Tuohy's soph year will go. Running a 16:38 on Bowdon as a freshman is insane.
Don't blink on NR frosh Claudel Chery either. His freshman resume' ended up even a step or two better than Tuohy's. North Rockland might ruin a few Saturday mornings for some other teams this fall.

North Rockland only had 3 class of 2026 boys on the roster last year. Not just on varsity, but in the entire program. But all 3 of them are going to be varsity this year. It will be interesting to see if any new stud freshmen come in. They could possibly have a really good team during Tuohy’s senior year too. It takes 5 to score.

Some other teams that could be really good in 2024 are Corning and maybe Monroe Woodbury.
Corning will be strong in 2024, but they will actually be a team to watch in 2023 also. They return Cornfield - 12 - 9:37 3200 Mahoney - 11 - 9:43 3200 Boutwell - 10 - 9:51 3200 Homa - 11 - 9:55 3200 Warner - 10 - 4:43 1600 Ferratella - 10 - 10:36 3200 Kahabka - 12 - 10:47 3200
Austin Ferrin, Auburn's 5th or 6th guy last season, ran a solid 15K at the Boilermaker. 53:06.
Yes. Auburn is in the mix to possibly qualify for NXN
Auburn returns a great group from XC. I am concerned about their track results which were not very impressive (only one guy under 10:00) but Howard did run 4:17 and they do return quite literally everybody. If Ferrin makes a big jump (that 15k is super impressive) they will definitely contend, there’s no question they have a great returning XC squad.
Any thoughts on Fairport? They had a great season last year and return most of their guys but some of their returners didn’t even run track. They did have some guys step up during track though
McGinn is #17 in the nation on TullyRunners rankings. Do you guys really think he’s gonna be that good this year? Yeah he did qualify for NXN individually, but his 3200 PR is 9:19. This is good, but more than 40 returners in the nation went sub-9. He also lost training partners Martinez and Otis to graduation so he will likely have to train alone this year unless someone else at that level comes in.
