Only the people especially close to her would know for certain, but she is generally regarded as legitimate.
It’s difficult to overstate what a difference both the developments in footwear and also this lightwave pacing equipment have made. Most of us give Kipyegon the benefit of the doubt (with the blood passport, it’s not so easy to evade the system for so long and also be the very best in the world) but I hate to think what the Chinese of the 1990s could have done with modern footwear and artificial pacing.
To me, this is almost the most compelling evidence she's clean. If her fellow competitors suspected something was amiss, I have a hard time believing last night's reaction would have happened. There's no shortage of frosty congratulations around the circuit when someone suspect does something amazing; this wasn't that.
Equally, all these athletes below are DOPING!!! Fred kerley Erriyon knighton Grant Holloway Athing Amu Noah Lyles Coleman Richardson Bracy Marvin Etc etc.
What do you mean by reaction to Katir's performance? What record did he break? What do distance guys normally do post race that they didn't do here? The only people that really suspect Katir of doping are some people on this forum.

Most of the other guys are noticeably cold to him after races. McSweyn is the only top runner who appears to follow him on social media. Katir acknowledged it himself after the 3000m in Birmingham when he covered his ears with his hands to show he didn't care what people were saying.
As I wrote earlier, Kipyegon is generally regarded as legitimate. You saw this in the reaction from her competitors last night in Florence.
Contrast that with the far more subdued reaction from Katir’s competitors and it tells you what they think of him.

OK so we have a potentially new form of drug testing: after the race we will observe how the other competitors interact with each athlete. Too many cold shoulders given to an athlete will be taken as a positive test result.
I like this recurring notion that the "fellow competitors" are the accurate judges of who or who isn't doping. It's pretty funny. Most or all of them are doping, or they wouldn't be at the "fellow competitor" level. I guess they do all know that.
I'm more inclined to believe they like or dislike the winner for other reasons. Maybe Kipyegon is friendly and Katir is mean, or something.

Maybe they should get to vote if it's clean or not, before the record is ratified.

Yeah totally agree - when Dibaba ran the WR and closed out a world final in 1.56.8 all of her competitors "loved" her too - in fact I will never forget the LRC poll where elite American MD women were asked who out of the top 25 performances in history did they think were clean and almost every single one of them said they thought she was even if that meant she was supposedly 6 seconds faster (at the time) than the next person in history they also thought was clean. Sadly they know no more than we do.
She's as clean as Kipruto, Asbel and all the hundreds of others - including the many who haven't been caught and never will be.
You’re not in a position to know that.

For a multitude of reasons I don't think there is anything genuine about her performance. She is as suspicious as any other runner at the top now. That is the nature of sport today. Doping is everywhere and they are rarely caught.
