Tatyana Kazankina is the only sub 1:55 800 m and sub 4:00 1500 m to my knowledge--also ran 8:22 3000 m at a time when that distance was much more common than 5000 m for women
The only 2 runners on this list who are sus are the first two.
Naive and uninformed.
Andrews isn't any more less sus than anyone else. It appears she had a rough college running career, so it's not completely out of question that she has room for improvement. Plus, she's at altitude now, and has some top women to train with.
I'm not defending her at all. It will be interesting to see how she competes when it counts for qualification. But to single her out just is mean-spirited, and really, then you should be calling out everyone except maybe those like Infeld who have competed at a high level for a long time.
Oh please. You are completely delusional. Why do we need to even hear your stupid message to someone who is suspicious of not being clean. Wrote her a private message Robbie
I’m just curious because I don’t know all the details regarding this athlete. Why the reason for suspicion? My knowledge of Norris-Andrews’ background is that she was a talent starting in high school, multi sport athlete in basketball, track, XC, but when she got to college she had a lot of injuries which stopped her progress for awhile.
She got healthy and started running up to her original potential. I don’t see anything suspicious like being linked to known dopers - what am I missing here?
Speaking of using different usernames -Give it a break already...you write the same story about this runner any time there is an opportunity - and always ending it with "what am I missing here". This whole thread is obviously made up of 1-2 defensive people with major issues. It is what it is. Stay off letsrun if you can't handle the posts
I just read the article after I created this thread and her coach stated the same thing concerning Josette fitness now. He stated she is in sub 4 minute 1500m shape right now and could definitely faster than sub 14:40 against faster competition. He also stated in another year she shown the ability to become a sub 14:20 athlete in the 5000m.

That's the deal. I don't understand the preoccupation with time, as if it's copy and paste to any setting. Andrews has been running 8th and 9th while attempting to qualify for global teams.
Then if she gets beyond that barrier a medal is an entirely different caliber of opponent.

You need to get a life and stop obsessing over her. Your posts are creepy. You do realize no one cares as much as you do right?
Yes, excellent race. Definitely in the mix to represent Team USA.
...
Not downplaying the other talented USA females athletes but if JOSETTE stays healthy, believe in her abilities, and compete as such she a lock for either the 1500 or 5000m team.
Looking at her race she DEFINITELY could have been pulled to 14:35 to 14:40 with faster athletes in the first week of May. I'm not saying she should go try to run world records but put herself in the mix for medals. Better to go for silver or bronze and fail then run for 5 or 6th and wonder later on, what if!
"stays healthy"
"believe[s] in her abilities"
"compete[s] as such"
While none of those contingencies seems particularly formidable, I would hesitate to say that someone has a lock when a moderate injury or sickness could wreak havoc.
No kidding. It’s obvious. Yet when anyone says sus there’s someone obsessed enough to create a thread like this one which is so obviously planned out and fake with multiple likes generated by 1-2 people and other posts with poor excuses

Wut??? I’m posting under a registered account which I only created a few weeks ago. I’ve never made any comment on this athlete before. I’m actually trying to defend or at least give her the benefit of the doubt since I don’t think there is any evidence to support the negative comments.

You’re full of it. Next time don’t copy and paste your previous posts.

This. Remember in 2021 Norris was a 3:59/14:50 athlete, second fastest American that year in both the 1500m and 5000m yet she finished almost 20 seconds outside of an Olympic qualifying spot at US trials.
Other examples being Heather MacLean being a 3:58 athlete - fastest American in the 1500m in all 2022, but she didn't make the team for Eugene - whether covid hurt her as some people think or it didn't as Mark Coogan days both back up my point. Or last year Sinclaire Johnson ran her fastest 1500m of the year in May but didn't even break 4 for the rest of the season.
The race Johnson went 3:58 is actually a great example. After Kipyegon and Tseguy that day GDS was best of the rest while Laura Muir languished 7s behind. Flash forward 2 months and GDS misses worlds and commonwealths with a stress fracture while Muir rounds into form and wins bronze at Worlds and a double medal at commonwealths.
Trials for Budapest are still 2 months away and Worlds are 3.5months away. Sustaining fitness and getting peaking right plus staying healthy is not straightforward.
Apparently her coach thinks she is coming along quite nicely and targeting her peak for the championships. So barring injury or sickness she is heading in the right direction based on her current fitness.
