Thanks for all the responses guys, lots of interesting info. I am going to try to give this a go through the pre-competition phase and see if it does anything. I'm still not entirely convinced it will do loads when also training with high milage as you are already getting long bouts of aerobic stimulus, but it doesn't seem like it would hurt to try. I did physiological testing that showed my hematocrit levels were at 47 about a month ago and I will get one again just before competitions start. If the numbers don't go up it will seem like it doesn't do all that much and I will perhaps leave it.
