For the life of me, I don’t understand why people are rooting against him. He said he had the goal of being the best ever, he didn’t say he already is, or even that he predicts he will be. His motivation is all-time greatness. Shouldn’t it be? That’s great for fans and great for the sport. It means he plans to stick around for a long time and work his ass off and race as many big races as he can. Seriously, we fans are lucky to have Jakob in this era. The rest of the best 1500/5000 guys right now are a bit bland.
BTW, if he manages to win double gold 1500/5000 in Paris and LA and holds the wrs in those events and we throw in a few more wc golds and DL titles, he doesn’t need to run xc or a championship 10 or run a 2:00 marathon to be considered the greatest. Winning and wr in the 1500 is WAY more challenging and valuable in terms of GOAT points.
I am not rooting against him, just stating that he probably won't get to the height of Bekele. Winning olympics once and WR in the 1500 is not enough. Bekele had wr's in 5/10000 and so much more...

You are not objective at all. Tell us you have over 50% Norwegian blood. We will then understand.
Note: Since you recognize my writing, you then know I forecasted a J I 1500m final loss, summer, 2022, W.C. 1500m final weeks prior to the race.
Did you also forecasted him to win the 5000m final?
Are you testing my memory? One or more of you are stalking me on here. You should know what I said on here before 5000m final.
I was trying to motivate G Fisher with my post on this site before 5000m final. I stated: Grant Fisher needs to take the lead by 900m to go, race penultimate lap sub-59.
Since you guys dissect my posts, you should have known. As we know: J I took the lead by 900m to go and raced penultimate lap, sub-59.
Did you also forecasted him to win the 5000m final?
And what do you forecast for the 1500m and 5000m finals in Budapest this sumer?
Do you ever wager on Thoroughbred horses? Would you bet money on a horse race this far in advance?
* Which men on race day will be fit and willing to split 1200m sub-2:50 in order to easily grant J I a 1500m victory?
* I cannot believe 1:43.xx & 1:44.xx men would waste their speed by intentionally splitting 1200m sub-2:50.
* Some people cannot naturally kick and some people will not put in the film study to learn how to properly sprint. Asbel K called out years ago one of the 1:43.xx & 1:44.xx men who has been wasting his speed. He called out one of the men for not being strong over the final 50m.

Great list but you forgot about his master's marathon world record from last year! Meaning, Jakob needs to stay motivated for nearly the next two decades to reach the same lofty heights. And he'll need to open a successful hotel as well.
In any case, Jakob is nowhere near either the 1500/mile or 5k records, either. None of the world md records are within his reach. He isn't fast enough. He isn't doped enough.
if he wants to be the best there ever was he needs to revisit the basics (speed) every year
all of the goats had speed
he should race several 400s and 800s during indoor to keep an eye on his basic speed
at the same time that takes pressure off to store energy for what matters; outdoors of course
No 1500/5000m runner is going to race 400m and rarely 800m. Jakob’s full-time since about age 11 has been distance running yet you know exactly what he’s doing wrong.
Both the 1500m and the 5000m records are stronger. If "no one" has got near it, is it necessary to name specific runners?
No one has come close to the 400 hurdles record for almost three decades, yet it was the weakest of the men's running records.
Logic has completely departed you. A record that lasts longer is a stronger record because it has been shown to be harder to break.
A record lasting longer does not necessarily mean that it is harder to break - it may just be the case that fewer people are interested in breaking it. We'd have to look at actual attempt numbers and the caliber of people making those attempts to judge the strength of a record.

I am a huge Bekele fan but the masters record is not worthy mentioning.

Some deep thinking from your part.
A long standing record might be an exceptionally strong one - or not. Many other factors should be considered, for example the level of competition. But such an simple and obvious thought seems to be completely beyond you.
Young's 46.78 from '92 was good, but not exceptional in any way at the time. It stood for almost three decades, in some seasons nobody came within one second of the mark.
Kratochvilova's 49.59 also was not that special, but it stood for over four decades.
Gebrselassie's 12:44.39 from '95 was one of the best distance records in history - yet one year later it was almost bettered, and two years later it was bettered by five seconds.
3:26.00 and 12:35.36 definitely are better than 7:20.67.
