What were the splits on the anchors that went 1-2. The second didn't run Tuohy's split, but did outkick her decisively. I thought she was going to catch them when she was within 2 seconds with three laps to go.
Maatog ran 4:29.8 while Markezich ran 4:32. Tuohy did start ~10 seconds back. She went roughly 65/66/67/65 and got within maybe 2 seconds of Maatog with 300 to go I think.
Touhy went for the win. Had she been content with 2nd, she probably holds off nd. Chasing Duke all out led to the fade that allowed ND to outkick her in last 100.

Gutsy race - so much respect for how she ran and I guess she really is a little like Prefontaine.

ND didnt have to make up more than 10 second deficit .. of course she has plenty kick left
Katelyn PR by a second !! 4:23 !! ... is such a crazy time.

That was Markezich. I've been saying that Markezich can kick, so can Mccabe. Tuohy will need to drop Markezich in the 3k

How is it a PR by a second?
She ran 1600 meters today, not 1609+. Add at least 1.6 seconds to her 1600 and the time is slower than her mile best.
It is pointless to talk about kicks when one runner runs a 1600m almost 10 seconds faster than the other. That's not outkicking someone, but KT having to make up such a large gap that she ran out of gas at the end.

im guessing the reason why they ran a different 400m runner is for them to use that new runner in the nationals

That should not be an issue given that KT’s 3k PR is 15 seconds faster. That’s like half a lap. Only reason she caught KT today was KT having to make up a 9 or 10 second deficit. Markezich only ran 4:32 anchor which is pretty average for this season.
I thought the regular 400 runner was injured. This team with Tyynisma in the 1200, Bush in the 800m, their regular 400 runner and Tuohy would be a real contender. Oh well.
Also, Starliper was once a very promising miler. Unfortunate how that has turned out so far.

their dmr team at nationals would be
SHAW-CHAPMAN-LEWIS-BUSH
Nope they'd be last then. Chapman apparently was injured in the pentathlon, as she dns'd the 800, the last event, even though she was in a top 5 position.
If they decide to go 'b' dmr at NCAA, it will be bush 800, Chapman/lewis/plan c 200m runner 400, shaw, Hartman 1200/1600. Lewis is a 58/2:16 400/800 runner only used in emergency.
We'll see how Hartmann does in acc mile, she has 4:40 potential.
