I posted this on some other threads but seems appropriate here. Fisher was noticeably limping as he walked away from the finish area. Grabbed onto handrail too. You could see him in the background when they showed Girma still sitting on the track right after the race. Looks like he strained something. Whether it impacted his race, I couldn't say, but the limp was very pronounced.

It's really tough to have 3 good years in a row, with continued progress. Usually there's a plateau or a breakdown. Grant had huge years in 2021 and 2022. It's not going to be easy to stay healthy and improve on those PRs in 23.

Wrong.
No limp, no injury.
Grant never bends over or flops to the track after races . . . just walks it off . . . but was so tired after this race he could barely do so.
Post-race interview went fine . . . admitted he just had his legs run out from under him . . . will race the Madrid 1500m in a week.
Big Q still looming . . . will he race The TEN on March 4?

Understandable tired, Fisher went through in 3:58 for 1600 then closed it in 3:37 for 1400. He went from 3:59 pace to 4:09 pace. He was feeling the acidosis by the end. A good race to rustbust.
My only confusion is why Fisher chose the 3k here and 1500 next week. Seems he's going for a fast 1500. If he wanted a fast 3k he could have run the 1500 at this meet for his rust buster then run the 3k next week.

This is a very disappointing result, anybody who can't admit this is in denial. He went there as a prepared athlete who expected to run very fast. Doesn't matter what month it is. This is disappointing. A 7:30 would have been disappointing, but something you could rationalize to a bad day, jet lag, or mistimed peak.
I am a big Fisher fan and hope to see him back. but it wasn't a great day. you hope for the floor level performance to be a bit higher when talking about the best of the best.
