Head Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Coach 2020 Tokyo Olympics U.S. Track & Field Head Coach 20th season as Florida men’s head coach 15th
I think Palmer is in for a very rude awakening. He'll have 1/5th of the distance scholarships he had at Alabama. Most of his Alabama team was transfers or international which is a function of scholarship money. He hasn't shown that he can develop runners over 4 years.
He has a hard time with 800m runners. 3rd place in XC but his top 800m runner ran 2:14 last year.

I agree with this post 100%. The comment about his team and where they came from is true. Waters recruited from those countries BIGTIME. The poster is correct.
Clemson Invite is supposed to be on ACCNX (and the Rod Mccravy is supposed to be on SEC Network +)
I don't see Mccravy on Florida's schedule this year?
The Razorback invite on the 27th is on OK state's calendar too. Bet we will see Cook, Roe, Valby etc there for first time.
UKY's indoor track is old and slow with zero bank, yet Valby posted an 8:53.89 at last year's McCravy meet. We could see one or more sub-8:50s if the top speedsters run the Razorback 3000.

He developed Tynnismaa, an AL hs runner, who although a bit under the radar now due injury, is comparable to Valby (4:09 8:53 15:33, 3rd at '21 NCAA xc), and a similar story of massive improvement in college.

Clearly you know nothing about Tyynismaa because you can't even spell her name right. She might be the most talented girl in the country but her high school season was really affected by a medical condition.
She won the high school XC state championship by 80 seconds....in middle school. She then ran a true 5k cross country course (Footlocker south at McAlpine Park) in 16:57 as a 13 year old. Her time was faster than Weini Kelati's time in the championship race (Kelati's junior year but technically Kelati's senior year of eligibility because she was old for her grade). So 13 year old Tyynismaa was beating 18 year old Kelati.
She ran 10:32 in the 3200 in 8th grade. Tuohy never broke 17 until her sophomore year of high school.

You are way off. The McAlpine Park xc course is nowhere near as difficult as the National Championship course in Balboa Park. So no, 13 year old Tyynismaa wasn't better than 18 year old Weini Kelati.

Her hs pr's were 2:13, 4:57, 10:45, which is good, but not great.
Valby's were 2:17, 4:50, 10:10 similarly good but not great.
The hs stars are now running 2:05 4:40 9:50 or better.
Nobody cares what someone ran as a 13 yr old, in fact it's usually considered a negative, in case you've seen attacks here on Tuohy, the Pings, Hadley, Wolfgram.
I enjoyed watching Tyynismaa's excellent 2021, and was happy to see her comeback well from injury last fall. I prefer to view her as being an under the radar recruit (like Valby), who improved dramatically since high school. I guess you could say she was a 13yr old prodigy, who regressed in hs, and then found her way back in college.
Either way it's a great story, she's not a Kenyan import, and coaching had to have played some roll in her improvement. I'm eager to see her back to full health for '23 track.
