I remember ice fishing one night in 2018 or so and listening to Elon really speak for the first time (this being well before he became superstar Elon, before SpaceX had taken off).
I was f'ing paralyzed with fear in what he had to say about AI. So, so cool. Still, cold night in the middle of a lake in Wisconsin listening to Elon talk about AI already being past our control.
“Your documentary, I can’t tell you how many people have asked me if I’ve seen it,” Rogan said. “It’s, I think it’s one of the most eye opening things that’s ever been done on this whole gender confusion thing that we’re going through right now in our culture.”
Podcast giant Joe Rogan, host of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” praised The Daily Wire‘s “What Is A Woman?” documentary during an interview with Matt Walsh that aired Monday. “Your documentary, I can’t tell you how many people h...
Comedians are the only guests I avoid- so I haven't seen Norton. But why listen to a comedian talk life, when I can instead hear a legitimate expert in a field?
I get what you mean, but Norton in particular is fascinating. A very peculiar individual who is very, very open.
Agreed. I typically skip comedians and MMA fighters. Tim Dillon was an exception since I hadn’t heard of him, but I guess he has a large following, and was a really good interview. Bill Burr was another good exception to the rule.
Rogan knows a little bit about a lot of things. He doesn’t seem to have an agenda, just a curious person. He gets a little crazy about nutrition, UFOs, COVID (for a year or so), ancient civilizations and a couple other topics.
Rogan also has a skewed view on reality. He made a lot of money doing what he enjoys so he has the winners curse of thinking anyone can do it, and you’re a slave to the machine if you don’t follow that path. 99% of the people who try what he did end up broke. Still, I find about one in four of his shows entertaining or somewhat educational.
Just gave his podcast a try last year, and was pleasantly surprised. My top 3:
1) Will Harris of White Oak Pastures
2) Adam Curry of the No Agenda podcast
3) Michio Kaku, my favorite physicist
Will Harris was good.
A few of the best for me:
Jewel
Dr. Sanjay Gupta
Tim Dillon
Ben Shapiro
Bill Maher
Dr. Andrew Huberman
Neil Degrasse Tyson
Quentin Tarantino
Most of these were good. Gupta was an idiot but the way Joe handled him was telling. If CNN'S doctor get showed up by a meathead MMA announcer that's telling.
Tim Dillon is my favorite. He's absolutely hilarious.
Two more I've really enjoyed are Dave Smith and Jack Carr.
Hamilton Morris is a writer, documentarian, psychonaut and scientific researcher. His show "Hamilton's Pharmacopeia" is available on VICELAND and iTunes.
I typically avoid the comedians too, and Joe has a lot of comedian friends. But, I've been onto Norton and Burr (and Patrice, RIP) since the early days of O&A. And both Norton and Burr will skewer both sides of an issue like a comedian should. Most of the others are typical hacks.
It's hard to talk about the without mentioning the one with Quentin Tarantino right? The detailed overview they provide on the filmmaker's life is kinda amazing. I also enjoyed Matthew Walker's discussion on sleep.
I really enjoyed the Brian Greene ones. Exceptionally intelligent and articulate guy from Physics to Philosophy, really captivating and mind-blowing podcasts.
