I think those ultra-ultras, like ‘Desert Solstice’, ‘Across the Years’, ‘Javelina Jundred’, etc. are interesting, in their own way. Must take a special breed to run around a track for 24 hrs.

A couple of disorganized thoughts here:
- I think Puma, like so many others have suggested. They are all-in on distance and certainly don't have a trail presence now.
- I wonder if she was cut/offered a reduced contract, or if she genuinely left on her own? Hoka would be fools to cut her. I think she is one of the better-recognized Hoka athletes, and with Scott Fauble leaving and Steph Bruce retiring, they are running out of social media posters.
- But then again, we were shocked that Saucony didn't keep Molly Seidel, and turns out Saucony went on to experience massive revenue growth with the success of the Endorphin line. Perhaps dollars are better spent in developing product and messaging compared to sponsoring athletes.
- The fact that two other ultra runners were not renewed makes me think that Hoka might be pulling away from the trail business line. Perhaps they wished to keep Herron, but she understood that more trail developments were unlikely.
I 100% agree with your third point. I really don't know why these brands pay runners at all. Put the money in R&D and make good products and I'll buy them, I am not seated at all based on what the pros wear. Pro runners aren't famous enough to move the needle in the leisure brands which is where the real money is.

I am wondering how much an ultra runner actually can get paid. I can imagine it is a lot less than some people assume. Maybe 30,000 -100,000 max?
And lets face it, ultra running is still a nice sport and most running shoes get bought by non runners, that a fact most runners forget.
A 'major brand' does not necessarily mean a shoe brand. From what I have read about her, it could be a meat or beer brand (many of those types of brands would be considered more major than Puma or other shoe brands).
The Taco Bell idea is interesting. They could put on timed 12, 24, 48, 72 hour and beyond ultra events where the infamous bell sound signals the start and end. A new stimulant infused energy drink to pump up late night Taco Bell or track runs.
Or maybe Subway.

Sorry but Mrs. Herron seems a little dorky for a corporate gig.
Baja Blast super shoe baby.
I agree that Puma seems like the most likely option, as much as I'd love a Chalupa-themed kit.

Maybe I’m having an off night, a bit depressed maybe, I don’t know. But a thread dedicated to pondering the next sponsor of Camille Herron just feels like one of the lamer threads in Letsrun history.
At least it's about running.
NNormal is a good guess.
I really think it will be Norda. they’ve got two new trail shoes out.
and have already signed Jason Sclarb to their team which is super random and closer to Camille’s age/competitive capacity

The first NNormal guess is at 17 to 2 upvote/downvotes. But NNormal is NOT a good guess. Her forte is road and track ultras, and NNormal doesn't have a road shoe much less a road supershoe. Plus, I've noticed that the NNormal athletes and media people are all close to or friends of Kilian and are into the mountains. Herron is not a mountain athlete and is not close to Kilian.
Good points.
I don’t think it is.. but what about ASICS
guess is Puma as she states it's a bigger brand that's new to trail / ultra. Puma did just out with a "trail" shoe. it looks really weak. not that important though, as she is not very good on trails. her strength is the long road stuff by far. she states she is training to win states. never going to happen.

Dani is not as solid as you say. … Same with herron, she is overpriced considering she is racing events that aren’t popular nor draw top athletes. I mean her events dont even have prize money…
Less than five minutes on Google proves the falsity of your premise.

She is barely a trail runner, most of her success is from running on a track.

Jason Schlarb is the biggest tool in the bag.

Whoa man, I'm not partial to Schlarb or Camille but to say they're in the same competitive range is outrageous. Camille is a road runner, but she's the best in the world at longer road ultras right now. She doesn't have the capability to use that fitness on trails, and I don't think she ever will (not counting Javelina, easy/flat trail races) but she's still among the best ultrarunners in the world.
Agreed. To be able to keep going mile after mile with her quirky running form is a bit of an enigma. And she does it with a smile, too.

Any speculation what company it might be?
I'm trying to figure out why I should give a F about Camille Herron's sponsor.
