First of all, I didn't call for anyone to flame out, I just predict that she will, there is a difference. As for her being a university athlete, this site has a long history of discussing, predicting and calling for the flaming out of high school girls; at least the individual I am speaking of is an adult.
It's 50/50 that KC is a DNS at nationals.
If she makes the start line, there is an 80% chance she is a DNF.
If she manages to finish, there is a 90% chance she won't be in the top 75
The post asked for people to give their opinions and you came across one that you didn't like, so you attack, cry, complain and argue with the parson that gave it. Typical. This is exactly what's wrong with the world today. If you don't like my opinion or my answer to the question, move along.
Has anyone in LRC history dug themselves a deeper hole in one post? -10/-10
Agreed. This is even much worse than the guy who thought Valby would destroy Tuohy by 30 seconds.
Since you are using a registered name, when what I said proves to be accurate, I wonder what you will do as I mock you mercilessly.
Once again...
BOOKMARK IT!
We get our normal trolls with their dumbish posts....and then we get pure stupidity on here. Yup - agreed with the other posters - this one ranks as one of the worst takes ever!! And Yes, please BOOKMARK IT!! Chmiel kicked your dumba$$!!
I wonder sometimes if people get on here to spout off a load of rubbish or if they truly believe in what they are writing (and I don't know which is worse). If I was a college cross country coach, I would love to have a runner like Kelsey Chmiel on my team . . . without going through the results, I'm guessing she has one of the best records of almost all runners (male and female) who has competed at the NCAA CC championship over the last three years: 9th, 6th, 3rd . . . a low stick on a National Championship team! -- if that's "flaming out spectacularly" I don't know what to say.
Chmiel is extremely underrated as she has been in the shadow of Tuohy since HS. Granted, last year at ACCs and Southeast Regionals, it was her time to shine. But as said above, she has been incredible at XC in college:
2019: highest placing true freshman, 22nd
2020: doesn’t count for eligibility, 9th
2021: 6th
2022: 3rd
Also seems like a total team player as she looked ESTATIC about the team win and probably that she ran so well today. She obviously trains with the best but on her own is an extremely talented runner.
I think after sitting out track this year she’s gonna be hungry and challenge for that 10k title. Will be interesting what her plan is after this year because she has at least a fifth year of cross and outdoor.
I also see her long term being extremely good on the roads!
Assuming she has a good day, regionals is a matter of 1st or 2nd. Her teammate has been on a roll since her outdoor season and it would take a pretty big upset to dethrone Tuohy, so likely 2nd.
At nationals, I give her a shot to beat Chelangat on grass, so she could get 3rd behind Tuohy and Valby. If she gets 2nd, I think she’ll be leading the wolfpack—Valby is just too good this season.
Chmiel is one of my favorite athletes. She a very, very strong xc runner and absolutely loves xc. Imho she stronger in xc than track. She is looking really great right now, but I doubt she could beat Tuohy or Valby at nationals. Maybe everyone else.
