I think he finally takes up that US citizenship in 2024 and wins Gold. With his money the opportunities and standard of living’s too good to ignore for his family to stay in Kenya
I don't know about the argument that he is 'too big to bring down'. I can't see it being a matter of corruption at the World Athletics end. Do people who make this claim really think that the AIU are on the phone to Coe at regular intervals telling him - 'the big man got popped again this week for EPO, nandrolene, and rat poison. Do we cover it up again Lord Coe?'?
It's more likely that the Kenyan anti-doping testers are corrupt enough to be paid off or simply will ignore any positive result. He only competes twice a year, so it's easy enough to pass the tests he has outside Kenya. Or it could just be the case that Kipchoge has enough doctors and experts to manage his doping successfully. He could be tested every morning by his team and if it's positive, then they know to not answer the doorbell that day. It's likely what Manangoi was doing, but he had to take the three strikes in the end because he is tested a lot more.
Or maybe you are ignorant and Kipchoge is just a genetic outlier like Sebastian "1:41.73 in 1981" Coe?
Don't you get tired of being a racist jerk and not even learning that it's nandrolone and not nandrolene?

Genetic outlier, who won the world champs in 2003, and is somehow still the best runner today, absolutely destroying fields of dopers by minutes, yet being the only clean one. AMAZING

Don't you get tired of being a paid shill for the exploitation and doping of East Africans when 15 Kenyans have been suspended in the last 6 weeks, including 3 Kipchoge pacers?
But congratulations on getting another post of mine banned for being 'racist and discriminatory', you earned your $5 bonus from Aden or Rosa or whoever is paying you. Maybe you can split it with the mods here.
@Mods - explain to me why my post was 'racist and discrimantory?' I'll e-mail the Brojos and ask them to explain if you don't. For saying that the anti-doping testers are more likely to be corrupt than World Athletics and WADA????

Don't take it personally. Take it like a Kenyan taking his doping ban. With no remorse, no sense of accountability and little consequence to their reputation.

If he runs actual marathons in 2023, I'm predicting they will be London and Berlin. Running fast is more interesting to him right now than winning Boston/NYC.
But I would not be shocked if, instead of running one of those races, he decides to do another sub-2:00 attempt that is set up like Breaking2 or the INEOS 1:59 Challenge -- except this time, it's record-eligible. But they'd need to find someone to fund it, and they'd need to find 2-3 guys capable of staying with Kipchoge through 30-35 kilometers. You'd have to pay them handsomely because anyone who can do that would be among the favorites to win a major half/full marathon next spring.
I don't think he'll run a fall marathon in 2024. In 2016 and 2021, he ran spring marathons and then the Olympics. I expect the same in 2024. Maybe he'll actually try Boston since the hills could prepare him for Paris. But I could also see a return to London and then Boston/NYC in 2025.
But before he does all this, or during, his team including him should be investigated. He is very likely not clean
Depends on changes to the PED testing requirements and improvement in technology. More required testing and more sensitive and specific protocols and he retires as others have in that situation. If not, he just keeps going and making the dough.
Others have said this, but I think certainly 2023 begins with London. It's the most competitive marathon in the world; Eliud could reasonably lower his CR there, maybe get another 2:01; and finally, Eliud needs his utterly unprecedented 5th win there, and perhaps to redeem his last showing. From there, I'm not sure. If he continues to feel up to it, another WR chase in Berlin is surely not out of the question. I think it would be very nice to see him line up in Valencia, but this seems very unlikely - as strong as the race has gotten in recent years, it's not officially a major, and I'm not sure Eliud will be motivated to go there when there's other major things left for his legacy.
If he foregoes Berlin, it seems like NYC is the natural choice. While winning it is practically a foregone conclusion, bettering G. Mutai's CR would be a momentous addition to his legacy. Then he could hit Boston in the Spring of 2024, and be well prepared for the hilly Paris course. This could allow him to complete his major goals of winning all six majors and three olympic golds by the end of 2024.
On the other hand, we could easily see a lot more london/berlin's through 23 and 24, leaving the remaining american majors for 2025 and beyond.
