That’s unbelievable. Said another way, I don’t believe it’s legit. This would be like seeing Kipchoge split a 4:02-4:05 for the mile late in the race. I don’t for a second believe that this is legit. In fact I would go so far to say that it’s nearly insulting to suggest that this was achieved by a clean athlete. For me to believe this I would have to see two things.
1) historically what are the splits for this section of the marathon for both men and women.
2) what is the slope of this section of the race.
Who knows I could be wrong, but this feels super phony.
While I think you're comparison to Kipchoge running 4:02-4:05 for the mile is incorrect (4:43 is 31 secconds off the women's WR, 4:02 is 19 seconds off the men's WR), you are correct in that it wasn't legit. See this story we published earlier today.
Interestingly, her fastest mile in a marathon is only 6 secs slower than Athing Mu's best for the distance. So 26 times further than Mu and only a fraction slower than the best of the md runner over just 1 mile. But nothing to see here. Mu is just a hobby jogger.
Of course the Olympic 800m champion is not a hobby jogger but only 6 secs faster over a mile than a Kenyan running 26 miles - I wonder what it takes for fans to question this kind of performance? As one poster said - it's like Kipchoge dropping a 4.05.
Read the article. The live broadcast was wrong. You, as usual, accuse the athlete of doping. You are pathetic, Narcissus.

My comment was made about a claimed 4.43. It still stands for any possible achievement of that order. The claim - in which the thread has been based - has subsequently corrected. That means you and everyone else here have also been corrected. Perhaps you don't have the basic intelligence to grasp that point. But 4.43 or no, as we see with yet another couple of Kenyan doping busts, the chances of her doping remains high.
