Yes, there's video of him being interviewed at age 17. I didn't make it through a quarter of the way through it because I had to work. What I'm asking for, though, is the source of the times he supposedly ran. In 1987, Tam had blue xc singlets, so why is his black? That's a punchline in the making.
Eminem’s verified high school 1:53 is still a more impressive mark.
Had to go digging for this one in an old thread but here it is. Marshall Mathers, 1:54.67. Supposedly in a post race interview he was quoted saying the race left his palms sweaty, knees weak, and arms heavy. The interviewer then noted how there was vomit on his sweater already. No clue what the food stuff was or who could have prepared it though.
Greater Detroit Regional May 22, 1990 Event #31 Boys 800m Run Heat 3 1. Saunders, Jeremy (Grosse Point South) 1:52.31 2. Jackson, Curtis (Cass Tech) 1:53.87 3. Buchanan, Keith (Kings) 1:54.75 4. Mathers, Marhshall (Lincoln) 1:54.76 5. Williams, Jamaal (Northwestern High) 1:57.89 6. Njapa, Charles (Western International) 2:01.01 7. Martin, Kelvin (Dearborn) 2:05.76 8. Douthit, Pat (Detroit Jesuit) DNF Track was the only thing that could possibly have kept him in school but it wasn't enough.

CURTIS JACKSON two spots in front on home....cmon man 😂😂😂 no way
I had a bit of fun back on April Fool’s Day 2011 on my old Spiked Up, Psyched Up blog when I posted the following race result: Greater Detroit Regional May 22, 1990 Event #31 Boys 800m Run Heat 3 1. Saunders, Jeremy (Grosse Point South) 1:52.31 2. Jackson, Curtis (Cass Tech) 1:53.87 3. Buchanan, Keith (Kings) 1:54.75 4. Mathers, Marhshall (Lincoln) 1:54.76 5. Williams, Jamaal (Northwestern High) 1:57.89 6. Njapa, Charles (Western International) 2:01.01 7. Martin, Kelvin (Dearborn) 2:05.76 The guy in fourth place is obviously the main attraction — so did Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, really run a 1:54 800? The answer: hell, no. Though, as my colleague Ryan Sterner noted earlier this week, Eminem did admit to running up to 17 miles a day on the treadmill. For the sake of intellectual honestly, I have to admit I didn’t even make up this April Fool’s Day ruse. The original fake race result came from a random LetsRun forum post earlier in 2011. Despite the ludicrousness of the post — not to mention the day of the post — it tricked plenty of people, including Track Nation USA, Reddit, some dimwitted LetsRun message board posters, and even our good friends at Spikes Mag. Sorry!
While he was in Baltimore attending a prestigious and well known high school for gifted kids. He did ballet, dance, acting, and running. The rumors of him living a rough life growing up is not all fact. Apparently all that drug selling as a kid was mostly made up for his image. I not saying he didn't have hard time, but he definitely wasn't living the life his music portrays.
What is the point of this post about someone who died (as you note) 36 years ago?
