I like the idea of a having an open and a biological xx female division a lot. If enough people show up and would prefer more categories, we can create them. We already do this in high school where we have jv, jjv, races by grade level, etc. For the few of these people in any given race though, an open category makes most sense.
I am absolutely concerned about the physical advantage.
The entire female category was created in sports because of the disadvantage against men.
I support an open category and a natural female category. Also, drug protocols must be followed for all. If it’s against the rules for competitors to take testosterone or other specific PEDs, then it should be enforced across the board.
I understand this means trans people from man to woman or woman to man could not be successful in sports because they either wouldn’t be good enough or DQed for their medications.
I would like a path for them to compete, though. They did create a whole para Olympics so certain people could compete for medals who otherwise wouldn’t do well. We may evolve to a trans Olympics.
Yep this. Too each their own. If you think you are a man, woman, goat, or potato I DO NOT CARE. Be who you want to be. Except when it presents an unfair advantage in sports, military promotions, etc, OR when it affects my family (bathrooms and kids).

I'm open to the idea of a nonbinary division, but I don't think it would have enough participation to justify it. I don't think JV is a good comparison because the goal of a nonbinary division would be to have them competing at the relatively same level as men and women, whereas the goal of JV is to let people race who aren't at the same level as varsity.
I don't think anybody holds the beliefs that you are condemning. Everybody agrees that since Nikki was born with the body of a woman, Nikki should compete against women. When people say "wHy IsNt sHe CoMpeTiNg aGaInSt mEn?" they are attempting to expose the hypocrisy of the other side, because the fact that she competes with women and nobody contests it, demonstrates the fact that the Compete-By-Identification side still recognizes that nikki should compete with women because to do otherwise would give her an enormous and insurmountable disadvantage. Those who support competing by identification often refuse to acknowledge the advantage held by men, but in this case it is impossible to deny because competing against men would be a career ending move.
I wonder who "the other side" is. Do "they" have a common agenda and speak in one voice? Or are "they" allowed to have disagreement among them? Is every one of "them" responsible for everything said and done by every other member of "them"?
Does Hiltz have any say over MtF trans people who want to compete with women? Do MtF trans people who want to compete with women have any say on how Hiltz identifies themself and which division they compete in?
If you want to play sports with your friends on a high school team, are you requited to explain why a professional runner is competing in a certain division and not in another division? Should you give up playing high school sports because a nonbinary professional runner is competing in the women's division?
The medical teams that do this, work together and travel the world to the well know popular locations. Team members include psychologist(s), psychiatrist(s), surgeon(s), clinical nurses, medical-surgical nurses and other admin staff personnel. You know they could limit the medical personnel who deal with these confused and troubled individuals to the first two type of healthcare providers listed: psychologists & psychiatrists.
It can appear that the trans athletes are just choosing the easier level of competition, no matter the direction of transition. I think that’s what’s being called out, though it doesn’t make as much sense for Hiltz, all she (they?) has done is clarified preferred gender, it’s not like there are transition drugs involved.
What do you think of FtM trans athletes who are fighting for their rights to compete with men/boys?
Nikki Hiltz does not identify as a man. Hiltz identifies as non binary, which is somewhere between male and female.
Which of course- if we actually examine this identity for longer than 30 seconds- is absolutely everyone on earth. If gender is indeed a spectrum as the 'non-binary' insist, then there are two ends to the spectrum which presumably are 'absolute masculinity' and 'absolute femininity'. As an example, the factors which describe masculinity are wide-ranging and not neatly linked (i.e. height, beard growth, musculature, repression of emotion, etc), so it is literally impossible to be fully at one end of the spectrum, because the tallest man, the most muscled man, and the hairiest man are not all the same person. And the man with the biggest biceps might also like watching romcoms, so he's plopped at some indeterminate place on the spectrum and therefore, non-binary.
Declaring yourself as 'non-binary' is just another way of saying you have narcissistic personality disorder or that you strongly believe that masculine traits have no place in being a woman, and that feminine traits shouldn't be displayed by men. This is an utterly regressive and intolerant mindset which ought to be challenged more.
