Unfortunately, not unless (1) every woman runner is internationally tested, and (2) the test results are enforced.
They ARE already all tested and the rule IS enforced. You just aren't aware of that.
Athletes aren't allowed to run in international competition in a women's 800 if they have high testosterone. That has been enforced since Semenya lost a court case back in 2019. Learn your history.
Please keep all posts about the race. Many posts about DSD athletes competing in the 800 have been deleted as they are totally off topic. DSD or interesex athletes aren't allowed in the 800 so no DSD athletes were in the race today. Please stay on topic.
As a former 400 runner, Moraa only wants to run 400. She takes it out fast the first 200, coasts the middle 400, then turns it on the last 200. She's very good at that if the other runners allow it. They have to put more pressure on her and make her run longer than she wants to. Problem is, most 800 runners run the same way Moraa does, just not as extreme. It's a fine line. They have to put pressure on her but not blow their own race chances.

Moraa said in an interview after the race that the way she ran today wasn't a tactic. She just suddenly felt really tired right before 400 and had to slow down, then got a second wind around 550.
Mary Moraa takes it out in 26. Then she gets passed by 400. At 500 she's in last place and then with 200 to go is in 4th and wins it on homestretech.
Horrific tactics rights?
Has anyone ever seen an 800 before where someone goes out in 1st, then goes to last and comes back to win it?
But after seeing that I'm wondering if she's the one who could challenge Athing.
LRC Note. The thread initially asked can she challenge athing mu but we want to turn the emphasis on to whether it's ever happened before 1st to last to 1st.
Great race because she was able to win even though she is so young and inexperienced and clearly has the talent to excel at the 800m. Yes she went out too fast but her potential for greatness showed up as she recovered somehow and was able to run down Keely who also had a very good race. She will learn from this race.
We're getting back to the mode of the 400/800 meter types dominating this event. I think that Mu should run more 400m races again in order to complement her 800's.
And then we have the potential for the 400/400H/800 types like Harald Schmidt back in the day. Today, Femke Bol ran 49.75 in Silesia. This kind of time in a non-relay race only serves to feed the speculation of those of us who wonder how she might do at 800m (not to mention McLaughlin). If Moraa could move up so easily, why not others with 400m credentials?
The women's 800m is very exciting. I've watched the replay of the Commonwealth Games race several times today. There could be more excitement ahead of us in the remaining Diamond League races.
I agree with you. Moraa is a talent and runs with heart. Keely has a lot of talent too and should ideally be hearing 56, 57 as she passes through the bell onto the second lap. Maybe next season as she has had some great championship performances this season.
At the 4:35 mark, Moraa is happily celebrating her win while Hodgkinson and Laura Muir are laid out on the track utterly defeated! But they are FIGHTERS and all of this will prove more of an incentive to improve.
They need to get them all together and include Kipyegon to see what happens!
