Watson gets 6 games for 20+ sexual assault allegations. Ridley gets an entire season for gambling $1500. Hopkins gets 6 for trace amounts of PEDs. Make it make sense.
The reality is that, if you're good enough, it doesn't matter what you do to women off the field. Everyone is complicit -- the league, owners, players, fans, commentators. We're told how fast Tyreek Hill is every single week. Not one person talks about what a trash human he is. Deshaun Watson has to leave Houston and Cleveland gets to pick him up. You know who his running back would be? Kareem Hunt, who also has a history of violence towards women.
Fans are convinced that these guys have "served their time" and are made to only care about winning football games. Ignore anything real that gets in the way of that. There was a video of Watson getting mobbed for autographs at practice yesterday. Who are those people? Why are there children in the video? This whole thing is very disturbing -- the way we maintain and normalize violence towards women. Watson should be out of the league but he's too good, and that mindset is the exact problem.
