Ottey definitely deserves respect, especially for being the queen of longevity. Winning individual Olympic sprint medals 20 years apart is amazing! I just think winning at least one Olympic gold is a prerequisite for being considered the GOAT, and she never did that.
In Atlanta they had to go to thousandths to separate her from the gold.

What is there to celebrate? She’s been a known doper for quite some time and shows all the noted signs of a user. Love how women like SAFP get even more bulky as time goes by and more masculine way beyond any typical physical prime. Braces check. Storming out of interviews when drugs are brought up, check. Working with suspect agents, check. It’s not even about the drugs. Or athletes admittIng when caught they made “mistakes”. It’s what happens after that. The lies. The deceit. The people they tear down with them in order to stay in the sun and look like an innocent. It’s the manipulation of the narrative. The selling of a fraud. There’s nothing to celebrate here, and many defending and celebrating athletes like this don’t seem to care why track & field continues to degrade its quality in the cesspit of history. When you embrace the worst elements of sport you will be left with no true fans because it will all be a farce. Which is truly sad for a sport that is about raw physical and mental performance.
We will be celebrating her goat status when she is 46. A lot of sheep here.
