Schumacher has a very long list of athletes that have had serious or career ending injuries or burnout. That would be another good reason for GDS leaving.

There was some time between the acute phase of the injury and her announcement, so i'd say it was pretty much exactly 2 months back to when she left on April 11.
Stress fractures develop slowly over time, even before bone issues appear, what happens first is muscle and other soft tissue become chronically fatigued to the point where they can no longer provide stable support for bones. Next up is repetitive bone stress when in that unstable state. Usually the muscles and bones can repair themselves between efforts, if not, tiny cracks accumulate, eventually to the point of a fracture. Was this pathological state setup in BTC? Doesn't really matter i guess, DBS has got to be gutted, it can take 8-12 weeks to recover depending on severity, sometimes less.
