I know the right wingers on here will have the vein in their forehead pop when they hear this, but ever think of biking for your shorter, more inconsequential trips? I'm saving a lot of money doing this. Instead of taking a gas guzzler everywhere and then going home devastated when gas prices inevitably violently rise from time to time, maybe compromise and get a bike. I promise it's not something the libs will snicker at you for doing.
Wow! "Just drive less" why didn't I think of that?? Thank god we have liberal geniuses like you to enlighten us.
Funny how the people who voted for the administration who's refusing to increase domestic increase gas supply during a worldwide shortage in the name of "stopping global warming" are patronizing us with stupid solutions to problems they're partially responsible for.
Have you thought about moving somewhere cheaper?
It sounds like you're wanting government to have more control over the market and build infrastructure pipelines to make your bills cheaper. A very libby lib solution that has been mocked, ridiculed and voted out of politics. There is nobody with that political instinct that is left to help you.
$6.00? That's a whole different ball game. That would completely ruin my summer plans 🙁

And we have the tone deaf post of the day. Right up there with go buy a new electric car which is about $10k more than a gas car to deal with gas prices. I have to drive around a lot for work and our mileage reimbursement is based on the IRS rate. This has climbed about 2 cents in the past year which is no where near the rise in gas, or car prices for that matter. At this point I'm losing money driving for work.
Also for who is it the shorter 1 or 2 mile trips that are breaking the bank on gas? Obviously its the longer trips you can't just bike or walk.
Hey everyone I've got a great idea. Because we've demonized the gas industry and made it harder for them to operate in order to push our green energy fantasy you all can just lower your standard of living to account for higher gas prices from our crappy policy. Your Democrat 2022 platform.

The government is currently what's in the way of oil production in favor "green energy," so "more control" is actually the exact opposite of what I want. Nice try though, it almost looks like you actually tried to think that argument through before posting.

Hybrids can be had for cheap if you are in the market for a new car. Brand new Ford Maverick hybrid TRUCK is only $20K, gets 42mpg city. People were getting Prius Prime plug-in hybrids for low $20s (lower than the non-plug in Prius due to incentives). On Fuelly.com people are reporting 70mpg average (counting the average amount of plugging in).
Biden and the lib a-holes do not care in the slightest how much this makes people suffer. Just look at he posts on this thread from the liberals jackazzes, completely uncaring about those struggling to feed their families and get to work, especially the lower income people. The only good that will come from this is that democrats screwed up EVERYTHING so much that they will lose Congress and the Presidency hopefully for decades.

There are no restrictions on how much oil companies can produce.
No restrictions on how much oil companies can produce? Of course there are. The government controls how many drilling permits they are willing to issue and where they are willing to issue them. They affect the oil industry's costs by regulating pipelines, such as the oft mentioned Keystone pipeline.
On both of these counts, the Democrats have adversely affected U.S. oil production. During the Trump administration, the U.S. replenished the strategic oil reserves and became a net exporter of oil. Under Biden we have tapped those reserves, hamstrung production and the price of oil is up to record levels.
If I link you my Venmo, will you send me $166? You libs are are so wealthy you shouldn’t miss it.
I don't have Venmo and I am not even close to being wealthy.
I know that the gas prices are a huge problem for the poorer populations especially the uber and lyft drivers BUT if you have a little more money than that, it's not the end of the world.
You just said again $166 isn’t that much. So maybe you could send me a check instead?
Katie Porter (D-California) presented a bill to curb energy companies gouging the public by raising gas prices while enjoying record profits.
The GOP voted it down.
She didn't present a bill to open up the pipeline, though, did she? Nor any other legislations aimed at increasing production. She only presented a bill which would force oil companies to sell at a loss and which she knew couldn't pass
Does anyone read? Fox News is not the proper source, nor is far left sources.
Pipelines traditionally affect prices at the pump NOT AT ALL. They do increase profits considerably though. And the biggest reason for the pipeline beyond energy companies profits which make their way to GOP politicians pockets (and some Dems) was to run it through sacred Native American grounds. Have to own those libs you know!
There is no need for Porter or anyone to increase production. There is plenty. It is being withheld to drive prices/profits up. GOP and some Dems get contributions and if gas prices continue to rise through November, those that don't read and get their news from slanted sources will believe it is Biden's fault and vote red.
Can you provide an honest reason why the GOP would trash a bill to cap energy company gouging of the public?

Drilling permits are being approved under Biden's administration as much as they were under Trump's. In fact 2021 was a third higher than in 2017.
Keystone would not have been completed for years and so there is no effect on today's rapid price increase. It would not have been functional in time to increase oil production in 2022
The U.S. has the most pipelines of any country in the world, there isn't a lack of infrastructure to produce oil.
Green energy is still energy, an increase in renewables doesn't drive up oil prices, it should decrease them as competition in the energy supply increases. In truth, the oil companies are happy with a limited supply of energy as it keeps prices high.
Its so funny to me how the party of "personal responsibility" gets outraged over economic cycles. It's truly become the party of entitlement and crybabies.

Very much so. All they have left is to humiliate themselves with insane arguments about what is driving up oil prices: "If only that one Keystone Pipeline was open, all our oil problems would be solved and Biden and the libs wouldn't be able to oppress Big Oil!11!!".
I see they love to accuse libs of being triggered by facts and being snowflakes, but it's all just projection as usual from them.

So, you would also support making college and health care free for everybody? Or, do not care that those also make people suffer?
Which administration is vehemently opposed to increasing fuel efficiency standards? There’s no reason a car sold in the last 20 years should have gotten less than 40 MPG, and cars sold today should be getting 50 or 60 MPG. But, everybody needs a 15 MPG SUV or pick up truck so they can roll coal.
