In what world does "DEATH BY TEMPO" lead anyone to believe she actually almost died? I don't consider that clickbait at all. It's just a silly play on "death by (whatever)," and seems to imply nothing more than tough conditions/workout ." The only clickbait was the OP's title ("Allie O almost dies on tempo run.").

"Death by tempo" only means loss of life to stupid readers

Absolutely right. If Allie O had died on a tempo run, it would have been BIG news. And it wasn't, and everyone except a few schmoes knew it. The OP's title, to all except those schmomo sapiens (including the OP, I'd bet), is perfectly understood.
Bingo. Thank goodness a few of you agree with me and aren't stuck on this absurd "Allie posted clickbait" train. I maintain the only clickbait in this thread is 420's original title about Allie "almost dying." If you read "death by tempo" and took it anywhere near literally, you might...well...have issues.

This -- OP was more sensational than someone trying to drive some clicks on YouTube. Allie just captioned it "Death by Tempo" because it was hot/humid. Feel like I've done similar enough on Strava.
Some of ya'll have an unhealthy obsession with people like her & TAS. It's fun to see her workouts & so many on here complain about how we get zero insight into how pros train.
Anyways, a broken tempo @ 5:30ish pace is a solid secondary workout. She's getting fit per her pace job & previous workout. She hit some fast paces on her most recent ladder workout.
Let me quote Bob Schul one day when we were talking:
"Can you explain what the hell the TEMPO means?"
Lets not call a run a "tempo"....every run has a tempo. If she was running a true "tempo" run .....also used to mean "threshold" run, she her coach wouldnt be that stupid to only give her a 90 seconds break between the 20 minute and 10 minute rep. Should have been at least 4 minutes.
Who coached her now and where does she live and train?
Not sure who coaches her. She does say that some of her track workouts are written by her BF. Maybe he is coaching her?
She lives just south of Green Lake in the northern part of Seattle, WA. She does some of her tempo runs around Green Lake. Altitude is probably about 100' above sea level.
How much lack of self respect must you have to make clickbait titles like this? Nick Symmonds does this garbage too. It feels gross - like you're such a narcissistic, slimey salesman who is so desperate to sell a product that you know is s#!t, so you resort to clickbait.
Wow you sound very positive about life and people!
Or maybe this is just a teenage girl having fun practicing her video and editing skills doing something she loves?

She has said she is coaching herself. She has a related degree, interest in coaching, experience as an athlete, and has been an volunteer assistant at Seattle Pacific for a couple years. She lets Spencer write some workouts for her. Good to get some feedback from others when self coached, and probably to humor him too.

Thanks for that useful info. Appreciate.
Has it been that humid in Seattle recently?
Yes, the greater Seattle area has been more humid than usual. Even had some lightening and thunder storms. Not a common occurrence here. Yesterday seemed more like a mid-west type of day.

It's really the OP that misled with their titled to make it clickbait as they said she almost died doing a tempo run, not death by tempo. Obviously if posters actually watch the video, she looked rather smooth but was just hot.
