What is the freshman national record for girls 3200?
almost certainly Engelhardt's 9:50.69 she ran in April. I dont think any freshman had even run sub 10 before that. Tuohy ran her 9:47 as a sophomore which is still the overall record.
I seriously doubt anyone is doing organized workouts at 4:30 am.
You are correct. Not organized as a team but encouraged by the coach.
The logistics make it impossible. It’s become common for parents to give their kids a ride to school and none them are going to want to get up at 4:00 am to do so. It would also create about a 3 hour gap between the end of the workout and the start of school. Finally, the kids would have to be in bed by about 7:00 pm to get enough sleep.

Maybe, but as a parent I would consider that to be destructive for a HS student and I would flat out say no. My daughter had band practice at 6:30 and I thought that was a little over the top. The father didn’t explain why a 4:30 am workout made sense to him.
It’s insane how many amazing runners Buchanan gets from Alta Sierra year after year. No wonder they do so well in cross country - rediculous depth.
That coach has them running very high mileage. 4:30 am gym sessions and 10 mile runs on the treadmill.
You made that up. It was ONE girl ONE time. And she wasn't at the gym at 4:30am, she was in her house at 4:30am trying to talk her dad into taking her to the gym before school.
If the facts aren't on your side then you feel it's OK to just make something up?
I got him at 49.7 when I was watching at states, but I was timing 2 teams at once so I could have been off. He split 48.8 at Oregon relays, so he does have some fantastic speed. But yeah, that + a 4:09 is impressive as hell, I wonder what happened to him at masters.

Everything you say is “made up” is easy to verify on IG. Everyone in that district has seen it unfold in stories and on the middle school page itself. videos of early morning gym sessions, 10 mile treadmill runs at fast paces, racing 3 times in an 18 hour period, drinking 5 hour energy drinks, double days, 48 mile runs over 48 hours. All there for people to see. No one is making up anything. It’s an open book for all to see. and I assure you that nothing has been “ONE” time. That’s laughable. They actually BRAG about how this makes them so awesome.

Here is the school’s IG account. Can’t seem to find anything that would support your claims about the Coach or the team’s training.
