Coburn is done at the world class level. That is clear as day. She had a good run but the event has become much more competitive and she is not equipped with any advantage, other than her hurdling technique. Plus, her coach is not super experienced as to have a vast knowledge of what stimulus needs to change for his runner that is aging and needs to do something el different.
I’ve never heard of stimulus for an aging runner. Do you mean something like an extra day of rest between hard workouts?
In their defense, the winter in Colorado was unusually difficult this season, smoke from the fires, a lot of snow and cold temps, really windy almost every day. I don’t believe Emma left the state to train. She trained on the treadmill a lot.
Then why lie and say you've had the best training in you life and then not even try to run anywhere near your normal pace?
Not quite sure why you're being so harsh. Why do you think she's lying about her fitness? Do you have any clue as to how a world class runner trains and prepares in a championship year? I'm pretty confident that Emma knows what she's doing. Coming off a 20 week training block at altitude takes a few races to feel sharp. It also seems that she's being smart and wants to peak for world champs, she knows that her training and racing need to be selective due to her age.
