saratoga's best runners are all graduating this year and next year, and as i said if claudel can improve like tuohy, north rockland might actually just be able to do it
4 months later and the kid becomes north rockland's best runner, better than their seniors and better than any other freshman in new york
But not one of the best in the nation.
BTW Ryan Tuohy ranked 3rd in the nation in 3200m for the 8th graders and is the fastest 8th grader in NY last outdoor season, he was the only middleschooler in NY that went sub 10 in 3200m. Obviously speaking an 8th grader and 9th grader cant be one of the best in the nation when you got juniors and seniors.

Well, Saratoga may be losing Talarico but when you look at their results, seems that so many other guys behind them are at the similar level. That group includes: only 2 seniors 2 sophomores an 8th grader that scored for them at VVS but ran in the 8th grade race in 2 other meets 1 freshman 2 juniors They also have another 8th grader who was not so far behind their top 8th grader last race. At vvs, the sophomore was pretty far ahead of the rest of the team, although he was behind talarico.
but in 2 years, Saratoga and North Rockland could be the 2 teams going.
but anyways, if Saratoga isn’t good enough to go next year, then:
St Anthony’s, Burnt Hills and Fairport (so many class of 2024 guys) will all be better than NR
He meant that he isn't one of the best freshmen in the US. You always seem to put blinders on when the name Tuohy is in the sentence.
this is cross country, not track, you cannot see which freshman are actually faster when they dont run the same course, but what is true is that he was one of the top 8th graders just 4 months ago, and now he improved .. he went from the team's 3rd best runner to their best runner. so theres that... not putting blinders just putting credit when its due.
I will remember that next time Katelyn runs what you claim is a fast XC time. And you don't seem to understand that 99% of JH track times don't make it into a database.

katelyn tuohy taught me that xc times dont really matter, its the place.

Yeah he did go from third best runner to 3rd best runner. But there are guys that became some of the best freshmen in the nation that we didn’t know about before. Like Caden Leonard (SLC coach’s son) from Southlake Carroll. Running a 15:29 and he’s already on their varsity team even though they barely lost anybody. Or Brady Monahan from Jesuit LA. His 8th grade 1600 time was better than that of Lex/Leo. He is not on their varsity but he is close and this team is really deep. He will probably be with their top guys next year and scoring as they try to win nationals next year for the first time ever. Too bad they aren’t doing NXN this year though. Owen Clemons from TN is the best freshman I’d say. He ran a 15:04 at the southern showcase. But he was talked about a lot before the season started.
And Newbury Park has 3 freshmen that went 15:47,15:55 and 16:08 at Woodbridge. I doubt they will progress very well because I read somewhere that Sean Brosnan is still writing the training plan so nphs can win nationals this year. After this year, their run is over. The brosnans will have nothing to do with NPHS at all. It will be a complete different coach. At Woodbridge there were some teams with 2 faster freshmen from CA than the best NP freshmen

You do realize that the vast majority of MS kids in the USA never run the 3200 in track, right? Not saying he isn't talented, but the "National Ranking" is definitely watered down for that event. My son ran 2:03 800 and 4:35 1600 as an 8th grader last year. I am pretty confident he could have run close to 10 flat in the 32 on the track. But he never had the chance. There are a lot of kids like that out there.
