Off your list, I only would take Chris Rock under consideration as elite. Robin Williams was tremendous in other ways, but not as a pure comic. Seinfeld is a comedic great, but lacks in presentation (on stage and acting).
Dave Chappell is the GOAT comedian. A true genius in the strict sense of the word.
That is cool. He talked about how he was discovered on his first show with Carson. Cool that you were there.
With Mike Roche and Randy Thomas. I think that Tommy Ratcliffe might have been with us as well. It was a Pro-Am night hosted by Lenny Clarke. Easy to remember the date as it was Randy and mine birthdays.
Robin Williams would be on the Mt. Rushmore of comedians. None of the others on the list even come close.
Of all the Mount Rushmores, I think the comedian Mt. Rushmore might be the most difficult to assemble. There are some really good ones but no legendary ones.
Oh wait, I forgot about Steve Martin. Guess that pushes my one female comedian out of the top twenty, but then again, it is supposed to be a comedy list. The three Ts of comedy: Talent, Timing and Testicles.

True, but Williams, Carlin, Redd Foxx, Chapelle all in the discussion. Seinfeld and Chris Rock are great and all, but can't touch those guys. I'm sure there are tons of other comedians we don't even know about that are/were phenomenal. Williams was an absolute genius who got trapped in his own mind.
