15km-46:04, 20km-1:01:45 Missed 10km record by only 2-seconds and still waiting to hear about 10-mile splits for both Sara & Vicoty.
Sara missed 20km US record by only 4 seconds!
Keira enroute missed AR's at 25km 16 seconds & 30km by only 6 seconds

You live to be that guy. When you're a failure at everything in your own life you only get enjoyment from tearing down others...
You have no business being a coach.
Perhaps the US doesn't hold the top spot because the coaches are pure trash like yourself?

It is incredible (only on letsrun)
New HM AR: wow, that is slow
Boling jumps 8m25 (improving his PB by 18cm): that’s crap. Maybe he should try the decathlon or something
Harrison runs 2:22.77: that’s not even an AR. Webb ran 2:23 in his second race of the day
Katir improves from 13:50 to 12:50 and breaks 1500. 3000, 5000 and 10k Spanish records in 2021: talk to me when he does something at a major championship…
Its nuts. Former nobodies and never was-s just saying totally stupid sht.
I think a lot of it is mediocre high schoolers/college kids that don’t have much grasp on the history of the sport, or even the sport itself. Best to just let it go, otherwise it will frustrate you to no end.

I think that's a little disrespecftful to Sara. She ran an incredible race.
But that said, you are correct. When the American record is 67:15 and the world record is 62:52, that's not good. That means Sara is about 20 seconds slower per mile than the world record pace. That's a substantial margin.
Because the ONLY difference between east Africans and white runners is how hard they try right?
I wonder why east Africans refuse to try hard at the 100m...

Unites States is a 100m to 800m nation plus hurdles, jumps and throws, plus multi-event athletes. Opportunity Cost. A dollar spent on U.S. 3000m to Marathon athletes is a dollar not spent on best event athletes. Actually, U.S. is a 200m to 600m nation.
Can we give a shout out to Durgin? That was a hell of a run for her
looks like there were several good performances. Btw, I thought the record was 66 something. Not taking anything away Sara, but that record needs to be at least in the mid-66s.

Kara Goucher ran under 67 but on a point to point course.

i didn't tear anybody down. it is a criticism of our distance depth as a country. i would say it is soft people like you who are the problem.

i don't know what this has to do with the american record being almost a full mile behind the world record.
i think we could have have runners like schweizer and houlihan in the 65 range, but in the USA they are top of the food chain on the track, and there doesn't seem to be incentive to move up to the roads.
maybe houlihan will get that when she comes off suspension.
Common theme on LetsRun - Either an athlete's time is too slow and they will never amount to anything and should retire or they are too fast and are no doubt doping. Would be so nice just to see people on here happy for an athletes performance with no strings attached.

i don't spend time thinking about doping. It is impossible to decide who is and isn't. I look at this as a thread about the american record, not sara. It honestly shocked me when i realized that was the american record. that is what i took from reading the title and the time. Sara hall is what she is. she is a pretty great story. but that time should not be our country's record. it is impossible not to discuss that in a thread about an american record. sorry if that offends people.

Why would you even mention Houlihan? She is a cheater and will always be one.

i was not a fan of her, but she still has a very good chance to be back running 65 minute races in a few years.

Yes only the "hard" become nameless high school coaches... STFU little man.
When you call someone's record "embarrassing" you are literally tearing them down you imbecile.
Maybe the young talent is turned off from running altogether by morons like you...
you can twist it how you want. her time and result is not embarrassing.
it is embarrassing to be the record for our country. and well, not surprising. it is held by a very good runner who is not and never has been world medal class.
you are emotionally unstable. go away.

Do you think it's a coincidence that east Africans hold all of the records? You honestly just think they try harder? lol....
