The arguments on this forum about what women want are hilarious. Different women want different things. Some prefer a totally ripped guy. Some prefer more of a dad bod. I don't think any of them prefer obesity but there's quite a few variations of what a man can look like and be attractive to many women. Success in some form, even if it doesn't relate to money, is attractive as well. A 5'9 skinny math professor who has professional achievements in mathematics is extremely attractive to many women (high achieving grad school babes) even though he is not particularly tall, muscular, or rich. There are a variety of factors and it's more about being confident in who you are rather than being insecure about what you are not.
Wimpy guys are super defensive.
Dude, consider what you are saying from the opposite perspective. Guys are not attracted to fat, ugly women. They may marry them, and enjoy being with them, but all of that is in spite of their physical condition. And if said dudes had better options (same attributes but not fat and ugly) they would take them 100% of the time.
The bottom line is that men should lift and be physically strong. Not to seek the approval and acceptance of women. But that is an indirect benefit.
You can't just use the reverse situation as justification in this case. Men look for different things in women than women look for in men. For example, women tend to prefer successful men, but men don't always prefer successful women. They mostly just prefer hot women. There are different criteria for each gender so what makes a woman attractive is not what makes a man attractive.
