Perez back in 8th halfway through the race, will she be able to move up?
Looks like she is up into the pack chasing Cook, but they have let her go somewhat now
Big Perez fan, but Cook's putting her and the rest of the field in the hurt locker today
BIG gap after Cook at 2 miles (10:55)
Cook got reeled in at 2.5 miles.
Natalie Cook just wills herself to the line after getting caught by Perez and Mulhern, pulls away for the win. 17:15 FTW
Cook deserves the win. She ran great. That race commands respect.

But pulled away at 2.9
But held on - very nice race. Anyone notice that, when seen from the front, she seems to throw her feet out to the side a bit on recovery? Anyway, works for her...
Cook 17:15
Perez 17:19
Mulhern 17:20
Baloga 17:29

Very impressive. Cook looked “cooked” at the top of the hill and I was sure she would get passed, but no, she’s too strong.
Who are the favorites for the boys' race?

Thanks!
The race was a bit on the slower side. Maybe the course was not as dry due to some rain. The final result was where the SRs were tracking, with Cook slightly faster than Perez. Hard to judge based on conditions, but looks like Runninglane is over a minute faster than Balboa.
What an awesome race!!
Had a 7 second lead at the 11:50 mark, nearly got caught but held on to win.

Lots of women have this problem because generally their hips are wider than mens. This causes the hip to drop more in midstance, more likely then for the knee to move in which makes a runner compensate with throwing the lower leg out after midstance.

She has incredible knock knee. Wow. Hope it doesn't cause injuries down the road (no pun intended)
Shout out to Sophia Nordenholz. Great race, representing the California North Coast Section in outstanding fashion.
