Lol as they should. Men have been paying the exact same type of women for YEARSSS. Hell this is what some women aspire to be lol. Good for the husband.

I am gay and the best things about it are no women or children!
If you wish you were gay, I'm pretty sure you can find a guy to turn you gay.
It's about time...Men have been getting shafted by deadbeat Women for thousands of years...
I'm not sure what the guy does for a living who lives a couple of doors down from me. He lives there with his GF who works full-time. His ex-wife pays him alimony. Don't know how much but it seems he doesn't need to work. His ex-wife is an MD not sure what type of medicine she practices but I think he gets a pretty good check each month. I don't think they have an kids.
He's a pretty active guy. Rides road, mtn, & gravel bikes and has roughly 7-8 bikes in his garage. He also kayaks, hikes, and who knows what else. I don't ever see him out running!

I already am! Can you not read?

I think it often creates issues when women are the breadwinners. I'm not sure if it's a temporary hitch as we adjust to a world where men and women can play similar, interchangeable roles, or if in fact biologically men want to be the providers and women the nurturers.
My ex-husband filed for divorce saying I cared more about my career (and running...) than him. I made more money than him. He did okay but was never really into his job. We had verbally agreed that when we had kids he could stay home with the kids and I would work. But in the end, I think it made him bitter. When he left he said he'd never want me to be the mother of his children because mothers were supposed to be home with their children. That was something he'd never previously voiced, probably because it's a taboo thing to say in a modern feminist world.
Since then I initially was dating men who generally made less money than me, because I don't really care about money. But I think men LIKE to feel like the providers. I always insisted on splitting the check on dates out of a sense of fairness, but I think men feel emasculated sometimes when when do this. They actually like you LESS when they don't get to pay for you.
In addition, many of the other powerful "career" women I encounter have secretly pulled me aside and said they wish they could stay home with their kids but cannot because their husbands do not make enough money.
Sometimes I think we've been duped by feminism. It seemed like such a nice idea. I was raised to believe I could do anything a man could do so I should pursue a career above all else. Now I find myself in middle age, financially successful but lacking in a family and children, and it makes me sad sometimes.
I empathize with you. This is a good post!

I do income verification and I'd say in more cases than not, now the women make more than the men, by a huge margin. Plus, many women are in the management/senior level roles, esp. older Millennials (32-40) and Xers (41-55). Like I live in Ohio but we'll pull income for women making 70k or more easy in most cases. Men make more at the very very top but usually, at the bottom, below 50k you'll see more men under those wages than women. Women ARE the new middle class.
That you think your anecdotal experience carries more weight than national data and statistics might indicate why you are doing income verifications.
I never said it did nationally, just in my experience as an income/employment verifier within my area. Maybe it's a regional thing.

Have those women voiced their concerns to their husbands? What if the husbands are lazy? There is a huge education gap now too; women are graduating from college more than men.

My wife and I are in the same profession and see a lot of women in our profession who are married to schoolteachers who don't comprehend that their wives are the breadwinners. They don't help around the house or with the kids but do spend a lot of time playing golf.
What do the wives do? Male school teachers aren't as common but do well for themselves, esp. if you are in a suburban district.
So it sounds like those guys may pull in 60-80k as unionized teachers but the wives are probably sales reps or something pulling in 130-140k a year. Lazy guys, it sounds like too.
My fiancée outearns me by a little bit but it's not a big deal. Raise will bump me to 42k doing income/employment verification (easy outbound calls) and she is at 51k. I think the awkwardness comes in if the wife is making 1.5x to 2x the income of her spouse.
I wonder what the wives in your profession think of their husbands' abilities. It does seem like a taboo subject though.
I know my experience is anecdotal, at least in the Midwest. Maybe runners on the coasts are different as a result.

Women have it easier in the corporate world nowadays, and I think if the husband earns a lot less it makes it uncomfortable for both. But as that one guy said upthread, corporate women are telling him and his wife they would love to stay at home but they are stuck with guys who make far less then them. If the wife earns a little bit more than the husband it's not a big deal.
Meanwhile the media touts the old "women are paid $0.84 for every $1" and say how bad women have it. Even if that stat is somewhat true in some areas in the corporate world women do just as well, if not more than men.
also, how many women do you see in low-wage positions like janitor or security guard? Very few...the men have the crap jobs now and the women have the good office roles.

Have you really never seen a cleaning lady before??? Who is working at that daycare??? OOOoooooh and when women are at the office, who is the 'assistant' since secretary became a taboo word?
