I fractured a rib from a bad cough. I actually thought I’d dislocated a rib and went to see a chiropractor, who said I needed an x-ray. Taped up the rib cage and kept training for a marathon. I’m thin and have great bone density.

She won an Olympic Bronze Medal with A BROKEN. FREAKIN. RIB.
If Molly says she had broke ribs, she has broken ribs, and you can’t prove her wrong. Here’s the medical explanation for that:
You can’t “disprove” a broken rib, even with x-rays, let alone speculation.
Often, broken ribs don’t show up on x-rays. That means they are often diagnosed clinically. In other words, a doctor concludes that because you had a fall, for example, and you have point tenderness over a rib, you’re going to be told, “you have a broken rib.” Sometimes they do an x-ray, sometimes they don’t bother (since bruised and broken ribs are treated identically). Some broke ribs show up on x-rays, many don’t.
In other words, you can’t disprove a broken rib, even if there’s a normal x-ray of that rib.
So, essentially, if someone was told by a medical professional, “You have a broken rib,” due to pain over a rib, you can speculate all day long wherever they have one or don't, but you can’t prove them wrong, even with a normal x-ray. There are tests that can rule out a broke rib (bone scan) but they are time/cost prohibitive, don’t change the medical management, and so they’re not ordered.
If Molly was told she had a broken rib, by a doctor, trainer, physical therapist or other medical profession, then just take her word for it. There’s no way to disprove it. Also, some badly broken ribs hurt tremendously. Hairline rib fractures may not hurt more than a bruised rib.

Can someone tell me why she's always breaking her ribs? I was looking for more info on her NYC broken ribs and came across this from 2018.
What would cause something like that?

Broken? LOL. Hairline fracture if even that. If you have ever had broken ribs, you are in pain constantly and breathing hard makes it worse. I'm calling BS.

You used equivocation.
First you said If she says she had broken ribs she had broken ribs.
Then you said If she was told she had broken ribs by a medical professional then take her word for it.
My contention, as well as many others, is that nobody told her she had broken ribs. SHE MADE IT UP. Just like she made up the airline mansplaining story, just like she makes many other things up.
