On the other hand:
If there was systemic doping at BTC, why do so many BTC members, including the coaches, stand up and fight for the lone doper, instead of chasing her out?
Then have a look at USADA's testing list of 2020 and 2021. You'll find lots of BTC athletes at the top, with Houlihan + Jager + Centro being more often tested than Mu and Muhammad and Gatlin and Coleman and Chelimo, to name some other, partly more successful athletes. Someone else is suspecting something too.
It would be extremely risky for someone like Schumacher to allow team wide doping or even one person. All it would take is one whistle-blower to end his career in professional coaching. He would risk that so maybe Houlihan could win a bronze instead of finishing 4th?
You seem to believe Schumacher is both stupid and a person of low character.
He's never heard of nandrolone. I'm calling him daft.

Nike gave her and the rest of the Bowerman and NOP teams drugs. Shelby would have a pretty solid lawsuit if they dropped her.
Nike still has a building named after Alberto Salazar on their campus. What Nike is telling us is that they don't really mind if their athletes use performance enhancing drugs. Most likely Shelbo, the convicted drug cheat, is still being paid by Nike. This does not bother Nike.
There's no logical reason to believe Houlihan is still being paid. Whether she cheated or was careless with what she ate or the supplements she used, if I was the Nike guy in charge, I would be miffed at her and would absolutely not pay her just to train for three years. If she's running well as she nears the end of her ban, I would consider signing her to a new contract, but probably not.

She does say that she plans to train, and it does look like that's what she is doing. Maybe she is using savings. Just wanted to know if Nike is still funding her exploits.

I don't like her.
And I used to.
But here are some undeniable facts.
Shelby tested positive for nandrolone.
It was not a "trace" amount.
It absolutely did not come from the burrito.
And you know what else...
Not only do I believe Shelby KNEW it didn't come from her burrito, I have to believe she knows where it DID come from.
So whether this was an accident or intentional...Shelby is lying to the public, her competitors, and maybe even her teammates/coach.
and I don't have to like or respect someone who is lying.

Of course. Nike has given no indication at any time that they're against doping.

Why are you throwing a High Schooler (Mu 2020) in the mix with professional athletes? Keeping in mind she only competed Indoors for 2020, so 5 tests is quite lot for a 2 month season and only a 2:01 PR

Prob helps if I included the comment I was responding to :)

If there is systemic P.E.D. use by Nike athletes, a logical reason to keep S. Houlihan on payroll is to buy her silence. That reason didn't cross your mind?
Nike has no problem sponsoring banned athletes.
No logical reason? Really? You can't think of one? wrote:

I doubt if Hoilihan has documentation to prove an accusation of team-wide doping. Even if it was true, it wouldn't be in her best interests to make such an accusation as it would come across as "They made me do it" which would put her in a bad light. It would also result in her being black balled after her ban is completed.
Well, you got it: that's one of the reasons why there are no whistleblowers despite systemic doping.
She will be dropped slowly.

It doesn’t matter if she can prove it. Just her saying it would be enough to blow things up at Nike, which is taking hear still from the Salazar debacle. That Nike hasn’t distanced themselves from a convicted doper while she’s banned refutes any claims to their innocence.
I saw her running down Agate in Eugene on Saturday near Hayward. Was surprised to see her in town.
Agreed, they're a bunch of liberal betas.

I think this is actually probably true.
Feels like right now they are trying to make her feel good like they support her and stand with her. Then eventually they'll remove her from the BTC website since she isn't training with them anyways and slowly but surely it will fall alway.
I still want to know the truth about what happened.

Some of these facts are more wishful thinking from bad faith, rather than facts, and are easily denied.
She did test positive for the presence of nandrolone in her urine.
No one knows the source of the nandrolone for sure, except possibly Shelby, who was unable to prove it.
Whatever you think “trace” means, the quantity was a small amount, larger than what usually occurs naturally, but entirely within the limits of and consistent with ingestion of food rich in nandrolone.
Given the small quantity found, two of the most likely sources of nandrolone remain accidental ingestion by the edible parts of soy-fed intact boar, or possibly contamination of supplements (banned or unbanned).
Neither the AIU, nor the CAS disproved, or gave evidence disproving, intact boar consumption by burrito. The AIU gave and the CAS heard incomplete arguments that soy-fed intact boar meat is rare on the public market across the US. This may or may not be relevant to the single case of Houlihan.
Houlihan was put in the impossible situation of not being able to test the burrito, or some batches of supplements, to prove, or rule-out, these possibilities.
There is no evidence that Houlihan consumed any artificial nandrolone supplements as suggested by the conflicted WADA lab director/AIU expert, giving a similar “entirely within the limits of and consistent with ingestion” argument.
Using the logic presented to the CAS, no one wins the lottery or gets struck by lightning, or bowls 300, or spontaneously combusts. It is easy to fall for this prosecutor’s fallacy, especially if you want to believe it.
It’s possible that Shelby lied to the public, her competitors, her teammates/coach, but highly unlikely.

One possibility remains that she told the truth all along, and unknowingly ingested edible parts of soy-fed intact boar in a burrito, but was unable to prove it more than one month later, to a CAS panel, on the balance of probability, having long discarded the remaining portion of a greasy burrito, and much of the public vocally turned against her because it is a scenario that is generally unlikely across the whole population of a large nation, and because they want to believe that it is not possible to perform well without taking drugs.
