At 100 gallons/day per resident, that's 5 million gallons of water every day. Where is he going to get that water?

I keep telling people that they're flooding every country with migrants because in the long run they want slaves in every country.
Sounds like the ideal testing ground for the next generation of nuclear warheads.

This “model” is so unbelievably unattainable. Have fun consuming filtered sh1t as your drinking water in the name of sustainability. Hopefully your 1 pint ration is enough for the week. “Recycling” does not create a 100% reusable ecosystem.
The electric cars will need battery replacements, which oh by the way use 10-20lbs of Cobalt each, mined by African slaves in Congo literally using sticks to dig it out (and owned by a Chinese corporation, fun!).
https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/business/batteries/congo-cobalt-mining-for-lithium-ion-battery/There is no point to this society other than attempting to create a socialist utopia. Interested to see how dramatically this fails when real life limitations set in. In the words of Thanos, “Reality is often disappointing”
The realities and difficulties of running a city, state, or country are unknown to the stupid. They think it’s easy to just run the perfect society. Nope. The only way to do it is everyone has to be the same. Meaning they all don’t want any wealth. That’s where socialism ultimately fails. It sounds nice, but those in charge always want more and more for their time. So they suck all the resources out leaving everyone with less and less over time. In the long run you end up with, well, every other socialist country run by a dictator. The people are dirt poor eating dirt while the leader lives a lavish life. It’s happened a million times all across the world over the last 10,000 years.

The problems with this extremely goofy idea are many.
If you want racial diversity with this kind of engineered society then the only races you can have are Whites and some Asian computer scientists. You're in the middle of the dessert so water infrastructure will be a key challenge. That means engineers, muni bonds, taxes and good relations with your host state, which can always turn off the water.
Since nobody can own land and environmental regulations will be harsh, speculators and entrepreneurs will think twice before relocating here. If your vision of diversity includes migrants from south of the border and American blacks, you need welfare, social services, cops and jails.
End Result: educated White liberals working to take care of a growing population of hostile no White people.
See? Just like California.
Marc Lore said he was using an in depth screening process. I wouldn't be surprised if the screening included intelligence testing and psychological. Smart but submissive.
I would also think he would be looking for the shortest of penises in his applicants since cataclysmic narcissism is a criteria he is coveting.

This goes round and round.. do you want a $1,000 iPhone or a $7,000 iPhone. $250 super Nikes or $500 Nikes.
I have yet to see a model where everyone gets paid a living wage and the end product is affordable. The capitalist pyramid is what dreams are made of.

This billionaire wants to build a city in the desert that features autonomous cars, retaining ownership of the land, preselecting residents and all money stays within the city. It sounds like a dystopian plantation owner having slaves work his land while letting them have a shack on a plot, of his land. Building it in the desert makes it easier to defend from outsiders and traps people inside. They can't flee if the only cars allowed are ones he controls and its in the middle of a desert.
We can be slaves to billionaires if we aren't marked for disposal first.

The city has already been built and is now being injected will money and weapons stolen in Afghanistan. That city is the new capitol of the Bush Family's NWO; that capital is Astana. If you have not already received an invitation then you should expect to be killed within 5 years. The time is now. Escape to one of Musk's Mars colonies is your only route to survival. Plan accordingly.
