Aliphine looks behind the lead group. Sally is up there.

Sally yes, Aliphine no.
Kipyego joins Molly at the front.
The 41 year old Canadian, Elmore, still up there
Ok, so basically no way to watch this without cable subscription or Fubo subscription of some sort? Clicking on the USA stream, I can watch it, but I get that "you only get 30 minutes free" message.
I could have sworn NBC said the women's marathon would be on Peacock....what a mess.
Yeah, I can't seem to get it going on Peacock either. Bummer.

You can get a free 3-month trial for Youtube TV and tune into USA Network.
Not sure why Molly feels the need to lead a pack of 40 other women?
I dunno about this masochism - they don't really get paid for this right? From what I can tell, a marathoner's legacy is determined by world records and wins at majors. They are essentially running in an autoclave and it is going to take them out of contention for Berlin, London, etc in a couple months. Bekele playing the long game and skipping out on this farce to hopefully finish his career in style this fall
Is there a way to track them to see their splits? The WA site just has the start list.

If it's slow maybe it's better to get a cooling breeze out front? (I have no idea if that actually would work)

She is feeling more breeze this way. Tucked in would be hotter. And at this pace drafting is a non issue.

Actually a good point. Early on there were roughly 100 in a tight pack & I was thinking who would want to be in the middle of that boiling cauldron?

The Olympics are fairly important to some runners. I'm just guessing.

Americans certainly can get more appearance fees for being an Olympian.
Wouldn't you be best off wearing a visor rather than a cap? Keeps the sun off your face but still leads your scalp breathe, especially when you have long hair.
Lead pack of 40 now down to about 25.
