Amazing race. IN this heat? 84 degrees and a 3:59.9 last 1600.
And Katir doesn't' win!!! God is good.
Why no mention of Paul Chelimo?

Cheptegai is without doubt on GOAT trajectory. To those seriously not convinced by his breaking both of Bekele’s 5K and 10K records last year, he has now bagged gold and silver at the Olympics in them respectively, and he is still in his early 20s. The only runners to win gold in both 5K and 10K at the same Olympics are I think Farah, Bekele, and Zatopek, which is both a tall order to expect and also weirdly specific. I’d consider a world record, especially if it ends up being a long lived one, as as good or more memorable accomplishment than a double Olympic gold.
He lost gold in the 10K but showed that his final kick is nothing to sneer at and that he can play the tactical game.

Why are you cheering AGAINST specific runners? Kinda cringe.
How can you cheer for something that is obvious as not being right? Struggles for 4th in the European champs in the winter, then improves a minute on his 5k…drops a 3:28…7:27…
How can you cheer for that?
"It's so obvious!!!" Really, was his 8th place finish obvious proof of doping?

That was really a dumbed down final. Even the young prodigy Kiplimo wasn't in his day.
So a victory without real glory.
If Muktar Edris was in the final and in his day, I wouldn't give a buck of Cheptegei and Co chances to win.
Notice also that Cheptegei was outkicked by Barega in the 10.000m who is a level down less kicker than Edris.

You're missing Viren and Yifter.

And Viren won the the 5/10 Gold in two Olympics, at a time when there were heats in both events.
Thanks, yes, I had a feeling I was missing some. Didn’t know Yifter had a double. Btw Farah also has a double double like Viren.
