i love luis, but i doubt he is in sub 13 shape. some people arent as impacted by the heat and humidity. others very much so.

Jimmy Gressier, ran as well as could be expected in those kinds of conditions and with that type of magnificent field. His 1311, even though outside his best, should be worth around 1303 to 1306 in good conditions if not faster.
In France we will say -“il a rempli son contrat”- which means he fulfilled the expectations expected of him coming here.
Perhaps he will celebrate with a binge meal tonight in McDonald’s as there are plenty of those outlets in Japan. This is somewhat paradoxical in a country which has so many healthy food options available.
Tears for Katir. I predict he will say post race, “ This is destiny and this is the way Allah (The great one above ) decided to play out the race“
Fulfilled the expectations expected? If English is your first language, I will judge you harshly. If not, you get a pass.
At least get some facts right about Katir. He’s been a permanent resident of Spain since age 5, Moroccan born. His mother’s Egyptian.
I love the proposed idea by someone that he screwed up/backed off because he knew that Tokyo Top 3 would be dope tested and didn’t want to take the risk. I’d guess he’s one of the most tested athletes in the last 6 months – for the obvious reasons. Whether or not he’s clean, given where he was at less than a year ago, the idea that the huge leap forward brought a sort of meltdown (if 13.06 is that) when the biggest pressure in sport fell on his shoulders is hardly a bizarre possibility.

Overrated, imo. Just outside the medals.
Good call Stats Man. Katir looked pretty rough from the gun. Maybe he peaked too early, or maybe being a bulkier guy he's not good in hot weather.

he always does that, look at his 3:28 and all of his other races.
I can't believe a 2:25:77 last k and 55 last lap broke a 3:28 man. Katir didn't look good from the start, I can tell you Monaco Katir would have won that race with a big lead on everyone.
Maybe he had to ease up a bit on his doping or something.
How is noone in this thread seeing the obvious answer to how Katir failed here? You're all obsessed with doping, this place is downright depressing. He's been training largely at altitude in Sierra Nevada which has cool temperatures and low humidity. The most likely reason he didn't look as strong was the heat and humidity.
This plus I thought his 5000 time was not amazing, it was only the progression that brought the hype. I was saying to all that would listen that his fourth then was still behind Mo Ahmed, proven big race placegetter.
At the rate he has been progressing, he should be in WR shape now.

Had a much better call an hour later but was too timid to post it: I thought Italy was going to shock the world in that 4 x 100. The fastest man was no fluke.
It's because of his unreal progression that this entire site is in full agreement, regardless of many disagreements, that Katir is doped. This one does not have anything to do with skin color for Coevett. Also, if someone blamed him for being Russian, you wouldn't accuse them of being racist because they are white. You can't pick and choose which race someone is a part of that determines whether someone is racist. If someone is biased against white people due to their race, they are racist. Same thing applies to all other races.
I did not think that there’s any way that Katir is clean. That’s the bad thing about this Olympics. There’s a dark cloud over it because other than some Americans and Brits no one has gotten an out of competition drug test in over a year and they’ve taken full advantage of that. The Covid pandemic created a doping free for all.

Guess again wise one. Katir isn't even in the testing pool.

Which agency do you refer to? Maybe i'm very naive but I don't believe that all the possible anti-doping agencies (including Spanish antidoping) have all been spending the last 6-7 months with no legal way to test him out of comp; and/or that he hasn't been tested after any of his major results indoors or out. In fact, I read an interview yesterday with him conducted just after Monaco DL where he left the anti doping room 3 hours post race - and I guess he didn't spend those 3 hours on the Letsrun MB. I'm not saying I think he's clean but I think he's on someone's radar.

How about you enter this site and pray tell your boy turns up:
"Registered Testing Pool (RTP) | Athletics Integrity Unit"
https://www.athleticsintegrity.org/know-the-process/registered-testing-pool?athleteName=Katir&country=&sex=&discipline=They reserve that reasoning for BTC athletes who they claim ill-performed because they spent too much time at altitude and less time heat training in Florida.

There are nobody.
The best Ethiopians are not there. Jakob is not there.
The 5000 is a depleted event. Katir is going to outkick the two Ugandans easily.
That comment sure didn’t age well.

So, genius, where on record is Katir being tested outside of the 💎 League and/or out of championship competition? You're wasting our time if you have no proof.
