When there is Mutola or Semenya they say, excess of male testosterone.
But still they had to bow to an American of Sudanese descent.

she wrote on a sticky note that she would win gold and it happened.
I show 14.0 for Rogers and Mu.
Hodgkinson was 14.2 and Reekie 15.3
Here are Mu's 100m splits (never been able to do this before)
13.5
13.9
15.3
15.2
14.9
14.4
14.0
14.0
so that's 27.4, 30.5 (57.9) 29.3, 28.0 (57.3)

What a badass woman. Can't wait to see what else she can do.
She seems to have genuine joy for things. That was my impression when I first met her.
Her 600 in high school converted to 1:57 for 800 even though she never broke 2:01.

On the money passant americans are hypocrites.

That deserves a black page, brojos!
I thought Warholm deserved it for a week! Now he not even get it for 12 hours.
Destroying the WR loses a black page to times run over 40 years ago?

Jemma Reekie with a bit of the Laura Muir special. I feel really bad for her because she really went for it and paid dearly for not conserving a little more for the last 100. Advantage USA in the showdown vs. the Brits (though another nice showing for Bell).

I agree about Reekie. I saw that she was running the penultimate 100 as though it was the last. She wasn't going to beat Mu. She should have kept something in reserve for the last 100. Hodgkinson ran a much smarter race. She and Mu could develop a rivalry. Who knows what could happen over the next couple of years with these 19 year olds?

Hey USATF - MU for 4x4 anchor - DO IT !!!
Mu better be on the 4x4 along with Mclaughlin and Muhammad.
Thank you for saying that. Couldn’t agree more. Although I’m certain someone will have to complain because their feelings are hurt.
This woman will break 1:50. I guarantee it.

A WR that's going to be erased when he's busted.
Yeah we might get the rival between the amazing frontrunner and the kicker that we never quite got with Rudisha. It looked for a time like Mo Aman might be the guy but he went downhill quickly. Amos too similar stylistically to really count.
But here it looks lined up if Keely can keep improving her capacity to take a quick pace and kick off of it.
Mu looked like she was jogging the first 400! Great finish by Rogers. USAAAAAA
Very impressive race.
One thing I noticed is that she ran the whole time pretty much on the line between lanes 1 and 2. Why would she do that? It's leaving the inside open and you need to run the extra distance on the bends.
If they had a 4x8 in the Olympics, just think how good the race between the US and UK would be this year. With the three UK girls in the final and Muir, the UK would probably have a slight lead going into the anchor with Mu chasing.

And a ton of personality. Watch any interview— great voice and presence, she’ll end up in broadcasting when she’s done.
2021 W800 was as refreshing as 2016 was depressing!

It's unorthodox for sure. I think she likes forcing competitors to run very wide if they want to pass her and challenge her for the lead. There's a chance to pass on the inside which as we all know is disastrous for most runners. It would be interesting to see anyone try...if she has good awareness/peripheral vision she can surge to shut it down.
