And immensely talented would never dope - right? You can go back to sleep now.

Kipyegon has been absolutely money for years. She never has a bad race. Other athletes burst out with wicked times then absolutely crap the bed. Invincible to also rans. That's a big mark for me that Faith is clean. She was insane as a junior, insane early career, and insane now. Nearly always perfect tactically too. When she runs fast times it's cause she's well paced, even, and often following someone else letting them do the work. None of this going out crazy from the gun solo front running stuff.
I love the way here that there are so many who believe that there are clean athletes who can routinely destroy the best dopers out there. Proof that doping must be a non-issue. It doesn't work.
Yep. This is just another doper.

She was a junior champion on the track and in XC (she won her first XC title at age 17). Since 2013 she has never finished lower than 2nd in the Olympics or WC. I think she is already the best female mid-distance runner of all time. If she wins in Tokyo I don't think there can be any argument.
I dont think you have been following the threads for Hassan, Gidey, Tsegay and all the other usual juicers.

I'm not saying Kipyegon is clean, but Hassan is much more suspicious to me. Winning a ridiculous double no one has ever attempted and let alone accomplished when a few years before she couldn't close in a championship race? And no, I haven't followed those other threads. What's the consensus - everyone fast is doping?

Yes. Otherwise doping doesn't work because clean is still better.

Serious question: do you find any enjoyment watching the sport? Otherwise, why watch?
The African gene will continue its domination in Tokyo.

That would definitely have been a mile world record. I was surprised the commentators didn't emphasize that. But they are always thrown off when the outcome doesn't fit the script. If Hassan had pulled away and won with that time then absolutely they would have been saying she could have shattered her own mile record.
Faith Kipyegon is ultra, ultra elite. I haven't posted here in a couple of years but it looks like not much has changed...rampant cynicism toward any fast time and laughable understatement of Faith Kipyegon's ability level. Kudos to the exceptions. But most seem to regard her as a foreigner whose name they can't remember or spell, therefore she must be doping.
I loved it when Hassan turned to look over her shoulder with about 200 meters remaining. I knew darn well that the rightful pecking order in women's distance running was about to be fully restored within 10 or 15 seconds. Kipyegon wasn't sure what to expect from Hassan in the first meeting and her tactics were poor. Today I was certain she had used that race to train even harder, particularly for a closing burst.
When Hassan and Kipyegon are in equal fitness and form, the intelligence advantage and raw determination always tilt in one direction only.
Faith Kipyegon could win the 800 also if she trained for it and the schedule allowed it. There is a demonstrative ability gap between Kipyegon and Laura Muir. Today we saw Muir run 1:56 and she made it look like 2:02, sauntering out into lane 3 like a qualifying race in which you suddenly remember you need to move up a spot or two.
In 2019 many of us here correctly estimated that Hassan needed to push the 1500 world championships final fast from the outset, to take advantage of maternity Kipyegon's lack of ideal fitness. In Tokyo it would be exactly the opposite. If that race is swift like today then the result would be the same. Hassan's best opportunity would be a confusing tactical race in which she's still fresh enough to outkick Kipyegon.
I'm not surprised Hassan is considering the triple. She knows that Hellen Obiri is easy pickings. This would be a legendary feat. I hope she goes for it, even if I prefer classy Kipyegon.

I hate to burst your bubble, but they're all doped. From Rupp to Houlihan to Bekele to Kipyegon. Every one of them cheats. You simply can't compete at the world level without it. This is the reality of the sporting world as a whole, and if you'd prefer not to see it I won't blame you. Just don't pull the lazy-ass racist card when someone points it out.
People never mention all the OTC androgen boosters Rupp takes. Those make a decent difference. I do not remember anyone I trained with pounding this stuff.
Anyone who finishes a 1500 that fast the way she did and isn't out of breath is absolutely doping.

If '[e]very one of them cheats,' then no-one is cheating. She's the best of the dopers (and, therefore, the de factor best). This assumes that you're more than an armchair 'know it all', and I think this is an assumption too far, even for this thread.
How are those two women That far ahead of everyone else? Is the genetics exponentially superior? This feels dirty. Don't give that Kenyan a free pass because Renato said Kenyans don't dope. Anything under 3:56 should be scrutinized.

His only pleasures are to call athletes dopers and to insult letsrun posters. He is a bad man.
The "She was good as a junior!!!" rationale points to a higher likelihood of doping, not a lower one.
Virtually all African "juniors" are overage and loaded to the gills by their European coaches/handlers. The "junior" and "youth" champs contain some of the biggest cheaters on the planet.

Unlike a lot of fans, I don't enjoy watching doped sport. But I also choose not to close my eyes to it.

But dopers are good. As are their defenders.
