Bummer that Engels didn't outright make the Olympic team (though he still has a slim chance of getting in, if Hocker doesn't meet the Olympic standard or get ranked high enough), as I think he's great for the sport. But only three spots were available, and I'm also thrilled that Nuguse bagged the final spot (and that Hocker and Centro made the squad). Sad that some of the others -- a very talented bunch, no doubt about it -- are also shut out, which means that they get labeled as losers -- unfairly -- when, to me, there are superb athletes among them. For what it's worth, from my slowpoke perspective, I tip my hat to them all. (Of course, everyone knew that only three go to the Olympics, and just like in every Olympic Trials, some highly talented athletes fell short in this one meet.)
