how is that not a false start?
why do the rules not apply to this privileged person?

OK the evidence of the false start is clear, but wear the hell is the video of the meltdown?

How did she know Pat Henry filed the protest unless her coach told her it was him. Eldrick needs to teach his kids some class.
This website is filled with a bunch of losers. The girl gets a DQ for nothing. Some little man syndrome of a coach keeps her out. She gets pissed. I would’ve walked over kicked him in the crouch. Class! Give me a break.

The DQ was for a false start. Common occurrence at track meets, grow up and deal with it.
Tugma did you watch the video? It was a totally clear false start. The correct thing happened in the end, she did not deserved another chance to run. Rules are rules.
How would She have a Coach from another Schools Number???????
lets see...maybe Pat called her when he was recruiting her on his cell phone? or, if not her, I'm sure he called someone on her team coming out of high school. You do realize how easy it is to get other peoples cells if you are in the right circle, right?
Gun wasn’t in the air. She fell out of the blocks. Not a DQ. I don’t get why everyone is coming at her response. You all have clearly never competed for anything above a local 5K. This girl is a champion. Why don’t you all grow up. The girl was mad. Some guy called her a trailer park girl. What is wrong with you people.
Don't argue with "Tugma," he is just a troll. He posts on a lot of college CC/TF threads and always argues the most ridiculous opinions, belittling other posters and telling them they know nothing about running. Everybody knows it was an obvious false start and the DQ was justified, including "Tugma."

You don't even have the reason the protest was filed which is that there was question as to whether there was a gun misfire as more than one athlete was alleged to have moved. This is why the re-run for Brissett was initially set up (twice I might add). Why this decision was reversed is unknown at this point.
I don't care about the athlete or the event in particular but that's the reason.

Absolutely false. They were called to the "Set" position. Once set, you can only move after the gun is fired. This was a clear textbook false start. Clearly a disqualification. The rules aren't exempt for her regardless of her credentials.
Also it is sad that we have an idiots making comments calling her trailer park girl. I don't know of any black female college graduates from highly respected universities living in a trailer park.

Not visible from the video and based in the starters habits in the mens video (where the starter is visible), the gun was up. Not that the "gun being up" even matters.
A rogue gun-like sound (from wherever) is a plausible argument but it has to be supported by facts and corroboration or every runner would claim they "heard something". If she was given a re-run on this basis, why was it overturned on further appeal?
Wouldn't there have needed to be some compelling evidence for them to set up another run for her? That is why there are protest procedures in place. Everyone wants a fair race.
I do agree with Brissett though - every expletive she screamed about Henry is true. He would do anything to get his own team in a better position for nationals. He snapped after the huge loss at UT and immediately cut 20 members and put another 35 on a list that banned them from competing, practicing with the team or using the weight room. Right after burning their eligibility for the season with one meet. He kept them on the roster so they could work at the meets they had been cut from and would be around to put back in place when his chosen athletes left the team after the Olympics. What a legend.

Low move by the officials to reinstate someone who clearly false started, thus putting a coach in the position to do their job for them and take the heat for a decision that should have been theirs in the first place.
This.
Looked pretty obvious.
If you don't flag that, why have a rule at all?
Good thing she is not on Pat’s team. I can’t see him tolerating a rant like that.
you asking the real questions because i would LOVE to see this meltdown 😭😭😭
I don’t consider that as a false start. Falling forward onto your hands out of the blocks is not as serious as fully starting. I would consider this an easy protest, as you can claim falling forward that would only warrant a warning, not sure the reasoning behind the change.

He let his entire team wear the long Horn upside down at the Texas relays so he's obviously not that classy
A FS is a judgment call. If the gun hadn’t yet sounded, officials will sometimes give a yellow card and let the race restart—but that doesn’t really happen in elimination-type championship settings, it happens in invites where paying crowds want to see people run, and the athletes had to travel to get there—or, alternatively, in hack local meets where it doesn’t really matter and all competitors basically agree.

It doesn't matter what you or anyone else considers to be a false start. It only matters what the rules say. This is the only thing that matters. A basketball referee can't say, "I don't think a 3-pointer should count if the shooter jumps from behind the line and lands inside the line so I'm only going to count that as a 2." Rules are rules, and this was a very clear false start. I can't even see how anyone could argue against it unless you are just trolling.
Rule 15 Track Events
SECTION 2. Starting Violations/Procedures
Competitor Violations
ARTICLE 1. Violations and resulting procedures at the start of a race include:
c. If a competitor commences the starting motion after assuming a full and final set position and before the report of the pistol/starting device, it shall be considered a false start and the competitor shall be disqualified unless the starter has cancelled the start.
Note 1: In races in which starting blocks are used, commencement of the start is defined as movement resulting in one or both hands losing contact with the ground, or one or both feet losing contact with the foot plates of the starting blocks.
A coach who was at the meet wrote:
A funny thing happened at the NCAA West Region last night. Chanel Brissett from Texas one of the top 100 Hurdlers in the country false-started in the 100 Hurdles. It was a questionable call at best and Texas filed a protest over the false-start. After the games committee met and discussed the situation it was determined that Chanel would be allowed to run by herself after the 10,000 meters was done, and if she ran a time faster than the 24th athlete she would advance to the next round. Well once Pat Henry, the head coach at Texas A&M found out about it he filed a counter protest about the situation given he might have a hurdler who would get knocked out after Saturday's race as she was currently ranked 12th. The games committee then sided with Coach Henry and told the Texas coach, Edrick Floreal that Brissett wouldn't be allowed to run. She went ballistic. After the 10k was done and people were starting to leave the track Brissett was screaming at the top of her lungs.....F$#@ Pat Henry he F$##@ me over. Just kept repeating F$$#@ Pat Henry. Coach Floreal had her by the arm over by the check-in tent and was dragging her away but she just kept screaming at the top of her lungs....F$#@ Pat Henry. Someone told me Brissett started calling Coach Henry at home screaming at him. Just a great situation between two schools that hate each other. Only in Texas.
Like the Constitution, some rules are inherently racist and outdated.
