Well done team Telford with Nippress winning steeple and 1st and 3rd in 1500m. Aussie 1500 team will be Edward, McSewyn and Hoare. McSewyn should drop the 1500 to allow his training mate Ramsden to make the team.

McSweyn will get out kicked in Tokyo too.
Does Kipchoge look like he is running hard?
Oops wrong thread
McSweyn jogged that in. Thrilled for edwa, but not a chance in the world that he out kicked McSweyn.

Yeah, you’re either trolling or didn’t watch the finish — he was blown by with 50 to go and had no response. Getting blasted and not responding is not same as jogging in.
By McSewyn running the race that he did he cost his training mate Ramsden an Olympic spot if McSewyn decides to run 1500m. Edwards pb before today was 3:37 and Ramsden had Olympic qualifying time in 3:34. Maybe the most intriguing part of this event. I wonder what Nic B is thinking at this moment. A perfect race for a truly nice guy in Jye Edwards.
Surely Stewie chooses to do the 5k and not the 1500m at the Olympics. Does not seem like he has the kick to win a medal in a championship 1500 plus if he chooses the 5k his training partner (Ramsden) gets the third 1500m slot.
Jye Edwards pb before this race was 3.35

I watched it. I said he did not jog it in. McSweyn had no answer he did all the work

sorry I forgot his performance at Boxhill of 3:35.5
A few observations;
1 - What was Ramsden doing?? He knew Stewy's plan and didnt even try to go with and MAKE THE OLYMPIC TEAM!! Same for Gregson who also needed a fast time. Disappointing.
2 - Everyone except Cam Griffith had Nike super spikes on.
ADIDAS what are you doing???? Costing athletes 2+ secs with shoddy, dated spikes.
3 - Jai Edwards apparently penned a Puma deal today. So he got the Tokyo spot in the nike super spikes and is now got a nice paying deal and bonus from Puma. Smart move!
I disagree with point 1. From my viewpoint it looked like Ramsden was caught off guard by the hot pace Stewy put on which to me means it might not have been a planned tactic. Either that or he had a terrible start and first 100m.
Also there’s still a possibility Ramsden gets the Olympic time in the 5k. He is the national champ over 5000m and has a 13:16 PB from 2020.
Lastly, are we working under the assumption that Oli Hoare is a lock to go in the 1500? (I personally think he is a lock)

If he's not they're idiots.

Running for third in the 800 and a trip to Tokyo? Bisset and Linden Hall should beat her in the final and Small is the threat to her bronze.
Rojo, search the subject before you start another official thread.
You do the exact same thing, dude. Pot meet kettle.

That was an AMAZING race. mcSwyn wasn't jogging. He got beat.
I'm so so impressed by edwards. That was one of the best races I've watch in a LONG time. I mean you've got a 3:35 PB. The other guy takes it out hard and you go with him.
Craig Mottram would be proud.
Anyone know how I can contact the dude? I want him on the podcast.
email me if you have his contact info
robert@letsrun.comhttps://www.letsrun.com/news/2007/06/craig-mottram-comes-size-balls/I agree it took guts, but I don’t think the race was all that great. Sat for 1425 meters and kicked, pretty basic stuff. He was very cautious - could’ve gone at 150 to go and really smoked McSweyn. I get it, the objective is to win, and he landed a massive PB.

I wouldn't assume anything. Hoare needs to back-up his indoor PB with a good outdoor performance. Plus, Aussie selectors may be biased towards athletes training in their own system rather than someone based in the US who never races in Australia. You might think that sounds crazy but it happens
No he didn't...
