c From what I've gathered your Interstates are like our motorways and have a no pedestrians rule (on a state by state basis?) - do they have a minimum speed limit for vehicles?
d Where do these attempts usually end in NY? What alternatives does he have to Times Square? I laughed when someone said they wouldn't be able to roll into NYC at 3mph - I thought the traffic was usually gridlocked anyway?!
a. He's chosen a pretty miserable route across the middle of the country for this time of year, being so far south. He will be facing probably 80F temps at minimum during daylight the rest of the way, easily could be 90F+ high temperatures at any point, probably 60F-70F overnight.
b. The Appalachians are much smaller mountains than the Rockies, but they would be a formidable challenge to run across. I would guess no switchbacks like you're used to seeing on the TdF or in movies.
c. Yes, there is a minimum speed limit anywhere I've ever been (~40 states) and no pedestrians. RV drivers will most likely get killed in a rear ending if they take the interstates.
d. Ending this attempt in NYC would be for publicity only. My best guess is that rush hour gridlock would be the best time to roll the RV across any bridge leading to Manhattan as he and team then won't get murdered in a road rage incident.
Times Square is an awful place if you hate unfathomable swarms of walking tourists and literally one of the last first world places on earth anyone, let alone an outsider would want to drive an RV. He will get honked at and cussed out >10,000 times if he crawls that RV through Manhattan. If Laz is a good man, he will not tell them this and someone will hopefully film it.
I also feel pity for him and will root for him if he admits to what happened in the west, drops the 'record' facade and guts this thing out.
