This is grossly unfair. Hopefully, Trump will be able to appeal this BS and then punish James and Bragg once he is president again. It is a totally political prosecution and the state has no right to his money. They all should be in jail. I am disgusted by the horrible taste in politicians the state of New York has. Cuomo, James, Hochul, Clinton. What a horrible state. The beat goes on.

I haven't read what Powell said (she doesn't make much news anymore), but if she is out there saying she is innocent or did not do what she said she did in her proffer, she is playing with fire -- the prosecution has the right to terminate the deal AND charge her with perjury and obstruction.

Here is the Order denying one of Trump's motion to dismiss -- executive immunity -- in the Fake Electors case.

If I'm reading this right, the only decision on immunity is that a president has no absolute claim of immunity from criminal prosecution. The Order would still allow Trump to present the defense at trial that some or all of what he did was within the "outer perimeter of his official responsibility." So, if I'm reading this right, not much got decided on immunity.

But the order does totally reject the idiotic First Amendment defense that Trump supporters were arguing: "it is well established that the First Amendment does not protect speech that is used as an instrument of a crime" Everyone knows that.
