DJT indicted on four counts related to January 6

Trump is up there. He and his lawyers must feel that things can't get any worse, so he may as well get up and say whatever the hell is on his mind. This testimony will NOT help his case to the audience of one, or help his appeals -- the only thing he seems capable of saying anymore is that everyone is out to get him all day and every day. That never flies in courts where its about presentation of credible evidence.

Judge has had it with Trump giving meandering political speeches and not directly answering questions and implores Trumps lawyers to have a talk with him. They essentially say they can’t control him and it’s better to just let him speak whatever he says is on his mind!

WTF?

If Trump is having this much trouble in a civil trial imagine his criminal trial!

Trump keeps forgetting this is a bench trial and each time he attacks the judge he is adding more zeros to the settlement.

It’s helpful to fully realize why Trump is melting down. Part of it is the $$$. Yes.

but the main reason is that he believes and feels he is above all this. Justice and accountability are for the little guys. He has gotten away with criming his whole life.

We might just see a “you can’t handle the truth” moment. He might blow with anger.

But other than that, he's doing well ??

I don't think that there has EVER been more of a chance of life perfectly imitating art then between now and the end of his currently-known trials. Fingers crossed !

I love that defense that knowingly submitting false financial disclosures is a victimless crime.

I like the way Trump calls his blatant repeated lying to the public “Bravado”.

Expect to see this defense used in future trials.

I’ve always been puzzled a bit how a human being can lie relentlessly with absolutely no shame. And then get caught in a lie and still not pivot nor have shame like normal people would. Instead, keep lying over and over without concern at all that everyone knows they are lying.

I think today I have my answer. Guys like George Santos and Trump feel it is 100% part of the job of being a politician. To them it’s like asking a soap opera actor why he acts. Well it’s in the job description. They believe they have a ticket to lie at all times.

You know it’s hard to credit a post that refers to “President Trump” with credibility?!

But both Trump and Santos both lied so much of the time before running for office; it's their ingrained character.

I see the political pundits making the same mistake they made during Trump’s presidency.

They fall into this trap of thinking that there is an intelligent, thought out master plan behind what Trump does. Why they do this? I don’t know.

Today they are claiming a sophisticated legal strategy for Trumps actions on the witness stand. No there isn’t! Trump is a childish, narcissistic lying piece of sh!t that told his lawyers that he was going to win the case if they let him speak. There is no 3-D chess playing by Trump. He is an idiot.

His lawyers are less likely to call him to the stand in a criminal trial. The defendant never has to testify, of course. (OTOH his lawyers still work for him, and if he wants to get on the stand...)

The problem is that, if he does testify in a criminal trial, he'll be subject to some pretty withering cross-examination. And as a hostile witness he'll be restricted to giving "yes" or "no" answers.

I often refer to former presidents as "President So-and-so" e.g. President Carter, President Clinton. Similarly, I'll call a retired MD "doctor," even though s/he's not medicining anymore.
